Our excellent editor, Bob Ackerberg, is a reader, mostly nonfiction—biographies, autobiographies, military history. In the recent six months he finished 27. "I read widely but not wisely." George Blaisi has told us he gets no visits or mail from his relations. Larry Colby's widow suggests we drop a card to him at 18616 N 99th Ave., #2030, Sun City, AZ 85373. He would like once more to see Hanover and the great improvements (or changes?). Joe Roberts reports from Olathe, Kansas, his wife's hometown, that their family is far away, leaving him a vox clamantis in deserto. Cal Fisher lives in his own home with a house helper. "I'm over 90. How much?" At your birthday july 7,1910, Cal,you'll be 94, like many of us. Our oldest classmate is 96 and youngest is 91. Jim Miller's January 27 letter came on the second try, written begrudgingly by a confirmed phone buff. Hey, you guys, the phone is fine. He and Hattie, both previously married, celebrated their 50 th anniversary. "They have been greatyears." They have retired from their dearly loved golf. So have we. Jim says he has played for 80 years, coast to coast, Hawaii, etc. Cypress Point is his favorite. Carmen and I were at it for about 50 years when health vetoed it for us too. Our range was from Majorca west to Australia. My favorite is Pebble Beach, played more than 100 times. (Scores? Don't ask!) Our home courses here, Monterey Peninsula Country Club, were challenging enough.
