As I write there are only a few days left to contribute to the Alumni Fund. As of now the class has reached its goal ($110,000)— and then some. Tom Adams once again proved how very good he is at raising money, and probably blood pressures. Final figure will be in my next effort, if not by John McClintock and his newsletter earlier. Spoke to John. He and Edie are back from a visit to Ireland in May. In addition to all his help for our class viahis newsletter John is a trustee and very active in a Hospice Association in Edgartown, Massachusetts. I called for Jim Heller in Milwaukee. He was out on the land with his tractor butwife Avis kept meup to date. They travel when so moved and told me Italy and Venice a favorite spot. Tried Phil Struhsacker in Franconia, New Hampshire. He was on the golf course but wife Marjorie gave me an update. Just back from a Switzerland, North Italy trip. Were at Como, among other places, the same time I was there. Can't believe I didn't run into them. Phil, as you know, is a retired banker and an avid golfer. Phil, your wife told me about your game. (You know over the years I've gotten more info from wives.) They spend the winter months in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Did find Harry Colmery out in California. He actually told me he was thinking of retiring next year. I had seen an article in the American Legion Magazine noting that Harrys father had written the G.l.'s Bill of Rights, something a great many of us benefited from in our college days. Harry visited recently in his home town of Tupeka, Kansas, to celebrate Harry Colmery Day (his father).
Reminder: Mini-reunion is scheduled for October 28,29 and 30. It's Homecoming Weekend and the Big Green will play host to the John Harvards on the gridiron. Try to be there.
With regret I must inform you of the deaths of classmates Dr. David B. McDowell (April 14), Charles T. Duncan (May 4) and Stanley H. Feldberg (April 24,2002). We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
