We finally have some news of Ilona and Ed Drechsel. Ed is still in a nursing home and has regained some use of his hands. Ilona says he is now—this is in mid-April—able to turn the pages of a book. That's a simple procedure for most of us, but something Ed could not do for many months. Now he is able to escape the boredom of just sitting and not being able to do much of anything. Ilona, having recovered from her colon cancer, is able to visit Ed every day, as are her daughter and son-in-law. We are glad things are progressing for Ed and Ilona, and we wish them well.

Shirley Fox had kept me informed of the Drechsels' activities for a while, until she had a rotator cuff problem. That is better now, but in the meantime she had a fall and cracked a rib. When I talked with her she said she was in considerable pain, but hanging in there. We hope that by now she is feeling no pain and things are looking brighter.

Speaking of falls, I just talked with Bill Niss, who had a fall in his bathroom and cut his arm. He was taken to the hospital, where he had 20 stitches in the arm. Also he ended up with a pacemaker and says he feels he's good for another 10 years!

Acard from Dave Putnam late last year said he and his wife have 15 grandchildren, all doing well. The family business is now in the hands of the next generation and is quite successful. He sends his regards to all.

Boyce Price is not as active these days as he used to be, but he is still very involved with his painting. Last summer he had an exhibit of his work at the Howe Library in Hanover. More recendy he was asked to contribute a painting to a charitable auction and was very pleased when it sold. If you have ever visited Boyce and Bettys place at Kendal you will have seen some of his fine work.
