Our guest columnist for this issue is our head agent, Ben Jones.

The class of 1944 has been one of Dartmouth's most generous givers of gifts and buildings and serving as officers of the institution. Not bad for a class so scattered by WWII that our Commencement was never held. Most of us would agree that Dartmouth was just right for us. As a result we developed deep roots in the College and we are pleased to see that todays students are afforded the same exciting educational opportunities that we had.

Last year 82 percent of our classmates participated in the Alumni Fund. Our goal this year is 90 percent. We may decide to shoot for 100 percent in 2009 in celebration of our 65 th reunion. We have been named Class of the Year twice, won lots of Green Derby's and hold a number of "year out" records.

Most importantly we have 29 regional class agents prepared to remind one and all that this is our last hurrah (records don't count after the 65th). Together we can make it happen. Our championship regional agents are R. Whiting, W. Orr, W. Trier, P. Frost, S. Barr, E. Barradale, T. Streeter, R. Rader (d.), J. Vancisin, F. Witzel, P. Penberty, R. Harris, E. Rice (d.), J. Bodine, R. Bogan, H. Bogart, W. McEJnea, W. Carey, W. Hale, J. Carroon, R. Allenby, R. Ranger, P. Puchner, D. Nutt, G. Ives, R. Higier, J. Towsen, D. Patterson and D. Scotford.

We regret to report the death of Charles N. Martus. We send our condolences to his family and friends.
