"Video meliora protoque, deteriora Telivisionus sequor"... but come Space Cadet, 6-Gun Playhouse, or lady wrestlers, I'm going to get this column out tonight (after Big Town).
Had a nice letter from Bob Hyde, ice speedster turned forester. Bob and Betty had their first, Jonathon Quincy, on Dec. 1. Can't beat that nocturnal perambulation after traipsing through the glades all day. The only forester from our class, Bob is associated with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Forests and Waters, and is presently engaged in preparing management plans for a couple of million acres of Pennsylvania forest lands. Most people have difficulty with a 60-ft. frontage. Bob tells of seeing Dick Kerwin, graduate student at Penn State.

I called "Sperk" Welch in Dayton the other day... when our switchboard operator announced that J. H. Day was calling, the old hustler grabbed the order book, a Corona, and crayon... all set to book a record volume of filters... but became signally hair shirt when he learned who was calling... and that all I wanted was to find out how he was. He seemed more concerned about filters than his health. He is heading up the Dayton Filter Co.

After completing his degree, Wiley plans to continue his work in France.
Last summer while serving as an usher in a California wedding, Brad Long, redoubtable swain that he is, selected the most lovely bridesmaid of all, an eye stopper... and on February 3 Brad and his excellent choice Elena Rossi of San Francisco were married at St. Vincent de Paul Church. They will live in Boston where Brad is an assistant resident physician at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital.

In an effort to protect myself against a dearth of news, I compiled a statistical fascinator on the class... kinda spellbinding. There were 713 of us in the pea green bonnets, 490 took home a parchment, 70 became doctors, 41 became ambulance chasers, 32 went in for teaching, 28 in manufacturing and sales of commercial items, 24 hustling insurance, 18 hucksters, 26 students, 16 oil men, 14 merchandisers, and the rest of you spread all over the economy in dribbles of 8, 7, 6 and downward... only 10 thirty-year men.
However, if you are interested in news about other men in our class who are in your industry, let me know.
We even have this thing broken down geographically... by states and cities, yet. If you want any information about fellows in your area, let me know. I'm acting like a fur merchant trying to get you guys to respond.
Anyway, by states, New York leads with 146, then Massachusetts with 94, New Jersey 51, Ohio 40, Connecticut and New Hampshire with 29. We only have one man respectively in Florida, Idaho,. Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Carolina, Oregon, and Tennessee... and take a Maggie's drawers in Alabama, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
This is almost as interesting as knowing how much the Statue of Liberty weighs.
