1901-1951 THE BIG FIFTY YEAR REUNION June 15-16-17

Harlan Curtis has been in poor health for some time, and he has now retired from active practice. He continues to reside in Wolfeboro, N. H. He hopes to be with us in June.Mrs. Vic Salinger writes that Alfie is in Los Angeles, living near his sister. He retired from the government some years ago, after serving many years in the Food and Drug Research Department in Savannah and in San Francisco. Previous to that he was in the Philippines for seven years. Alfie has never married. His life- long hobby has been the collection of opals, of which he has one of the largest and finest collections in the country.—Jack Andrews is still interested in fishing and he started early this spring to get his tackle in shape. And speaking of fishing reminds us of those tough and hardy fishermen of the class lead by AI True, with Jack, Jim Smith, Arthur Sampson,Squash Mclntyre and others who used to go over into the wilds of Dorchester, N. H., to fish through the ice in the dead of winter. They brought back many fine catches, and lucky were those friends who were invited into Jim Smith's room in old Sanborn, and enjoyed those fish cooked over the coals in the big old fireplace. It is said that the fish were kept in the bath tub until ready to be cooked but that was never proven.

Bill Sykes had to remain in town several months this spring, due to incessant rains that prevented him from working his farm. Bill spent most of his time reading French novels. Bill says if he had to confine himself to one language, among the six that he reads, he would choose French, as his 40 years of living among the Latins has made him more of a Latin than a Saxon —Charlie Howe is busy working in and about his new home, but is planning on getting up to Hanover for the Reunion. He and his wife had too good a time five years ago to miss any more. We sure hope they make it.Elizabeth Kimball Stevens arrived at the home of her parents, Everett Jr. '41 and Kay Stevens, April 11, 1951, in Schenectady, N. Y. It is reported that GrandfatherStevens is very proud of his first grandchild.
