A couple of weeks ago I worked out a mathematical equation on the back of an envelope which proved conclusively that RogAntaya's Boiling Field eleven could trim Illinois any Saturday afternoon. I've since lost the envelope but do recall that Boiling Field ripped Syracuse, who in turn whipped someone who whipped someone who could take Illinois. Among his other accomplishments, Rog is now an accomplished after-dinner speaker, the last of the bigtime wits. The former Big Green guard in addition to coaching has been a tutor at a number of military schools.
All of which brings to mind Boston BobMcLaughry, who has just belatedly been awarded his second Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism in Korea. "As a result of Major Robert D. McLaughry's superb airmanship," the citation reads in part, "six enemy vehicles and two warehouses were completely destroyed and indications that a munitions supply point has been thus destroyed." Bob's now back in the oil business, living in Chester, Mass., with his wife and two-year-old son.
That was quite a job that Art Summerfield's dad did this fall, in running the rascals out. Give your dad a vote of confidence, Art!
Good news, from Kansas City! The FrankBehrles, after three girls, came through in fine Dartmouth tradition, and in a specialty befitting our class, when on October 20 Peggy presented Frank with twin sons, Dick and Bob. Looking at the situation objectively, Frank reports we can look forward to a couple of good half-backs in 1970. Frank also reports that Jerry Yudkin, nursing bruised shin bones, is a specialist in child psychiatry out there. You might recall that both Frank and Jerry are pediatricians. Frank's old roomier Jack Lewis, is in K.C. peddling group insurance for Connecticut General.
Other additions to the Republican Partv ... on September 19 the Charlie Mottolas put out the pink bunting down in Athens, Ga.. when young Bette Voorhies made her appearance. And up in Washington, D. C. —as though enough hasn't already happened there a second Harry Hildreth Davidson arrived on the scene. I£ young Harry is any thing like brother Jim we might have the making of another Dorsek boy.
We have to flake out early on this month's notes as we pay tribute to the big-time spenders, but in closing I thought you would be interested in knowing that Hose Craig was sprung from the Army and is now back in Dayton as sales supervisor for the L. M. Berry & Co. He and Liz just bought a lovely new house there.
Our most sincere thanks to the men in our class who contributed so generously to the Alumni Fund this year.
