Of paramount interest to you all should be a meeting held on Friday, September 30, in Bridgeport, Conn., of the Class Officers and local members of the Executive Committee for the purpose of aiding Fran Fenn in setting up his program of activity for this fall and also to choose a successor for the writer of these notes. The meeting was highly successful from every standpoint. Rog Allen, Bill Ashe, WayneBallantyne, Roily Bialla, Gus Farwell, FranFenn, Art Ruggles and yours very truly all attended.
Fran made his first annual report on the Class of 1937 25th Memorial Gift Fund. While we had a zero balance on hand October 1, 1954, we now have $1940.51. Of note is the fact that ten members of the Class contributed $1562.50 of this total and two of the ten, over $500. So far only eighteen members have contributed. We voiced our approval of the manner in which Fran is handling the tremendous job which he has undertaken, assured him of our support and urge all of you to be thinking about our Memorial Gift to the College. The Class of 1930 presented to the College more than $150,000 at their 25th Reunion last June. Fran will welcome any suggestions which you may have to help him with his program.
Art Ruggles reported that he had the greatest response ever from the initial mailing for Class dues, when 188 members had paid up for '56 by September 30. Keep it up.
Gus Farwell was a most congenial and generous host of the meeting. We met at the University Club where Gus had arranged for a conference room after which we adjourned to a private dining room for dinner. He was thanked by unanimous vote and some of us even got away without paying.
You will notice from the heading of this column that you are now blessed with a new secretary. Due to my having an even more unpredictable travel schedule and an impending move from the New York City area, Wayne has agreed to take over the spot for the remainder of my term. You've all been most helpful (as well as considerate - complaints have been infrequent) and I thank you. It has been an extremely pleasant responsibilitity and I shall miss the contact which we have had these past two and one half years, but you could be in no better hands than Wayne Ballantyne's.

Paul and Priscilla Smith spent a weekend at the Hanover Inn in early September - that's the way to live. Al Mclntyre did the same thing but perhaps we shouldn't mention it, as he left Mildred at home. See you at the Yale Game.
