Twelve members of 1906 and five sophomores from 1905 attended the annual pre-Harvard dinner at the Algonquin Club, Friday night, October 25. Present also was the son-in-law of Oliver Cromwell, Dr. Hill.
The '06 men present were Chapin, Cheney, Cooke, Cromwell, Denison, Dwyer, Frazier, Leverone, Powers, Rainie, Russell and Harvey Whittemore. I was unable to attend but assume that Walt Powers presided in his usual legal manner and was able to keep the hour-long talks of Nat and Herb under two hours each. I also assume that Harvey decorated everyone with the customary carnation .
The '05 men present were Roger Brown, C. C. Hill, Tom Keady, Doc Loder and Royal Parkinson.
Just recently Ned Brown in his column in the Newburyport News wrote that the Amesbury Rotarians always refer to our treasurer as "Daddy Norman."
While still in college Ray Butterfield started preaching in Tunbridge as a student pastor. Now at the age of 74 he is retiring from the ministry and settling down in the village of Ascutney.
