Ned French is well on his way to a complete recovery after spending a few weeks in Mary Hitchcock Hospital.
Joe Nuelle also spent a few weeks at Mary Hitchcock the last of December. Is improving rapidly and looking forward to going after the salmon as soon as the season opens.
Mrs. Redman and I have just returned from Hawaii via Los Angeles and Seattle. Talked on the phone with Tubby Laton and was glad to hear that he was feeling fine and was hoping he could get back to Hanover in June.
Also phoned Abbie and Cap Pierce and was sorry to learn that they will not be able to attend our 50th. We shall miss him as he has always been a faithful attendant.
In Seattle I talked with Harry Higman and was glad to hear that he intends to be back if it is at all possible.
The January 12th issue of the Myrtle Beach (S.C.) News carried a story about Mr. andMrs. John Kingsbury and their son Wallace attending the 275th anniversary of the Circle Congregational Church in Charleston. Organized in 1681, it is one of the oldest churches in America.
A letter from Eric Kelly, now in Mesa, Ariz., recalls an incident in which I am sure you will all be interested. Eric grew up with DaveMain, Don Mclntire, Tubby Blatherwick and Ninian Wolf in Denver. However, he left there in his early teens and went to live in Amesbury. From there, he went to Dartmouth and found his four grammar-schoolmates entered in the Class of 1906 with him.
A letter from Dan Ransom starts off, "I cannot see what I write." But his writing was good enough so that I could figure out that in spite of a broken back and poor eyesight he is planning to be back in Hanover in June.
On arriving home I was shocked beyond words to read in the newspapers of the tragic death of Edna and Mike Edgerton. They were in South America on vacation and their plane was wrecked in the Capaya Mountains of Venezuela. All ten persons on the plane were killed.
Four months from now I hope to see every 1906 man in Hanover.
