Reunion Chairman, Don Davidoff 6 John David Lane Albany, N.Y.
The BIG news this month and the next few besides is our first Class Reunion takes place this year - to be more specific, Friday through Sunday, June 17, 18 and 19. Mark all calendars and start gearing the wife and kids for the journey to Hanover. All bachelors come prepared to entertain the old married crowd.
Through the hard work and letters of Don Davidoff and others we are happy to report that we have a very definite program set up for the Reunion. We were fortunate to obtain the new dormitories, Choate Road Group, for our lodgings. Another interesting point is that it appears that we will have a joint picnic with the other reunion classes ('54 and '55) on Saturday, June 18.
Among those helping Don with plans are Prentiss Carnell, Russ Brace, Ted Bremble, Bill Miles, Toby Julian and Chet Zinn. We will undoubtedly need the help of many '56ers before and during reunion week. Pick up the pen and send your will to work via Don Davidoff, 6 John David Lane, Albany, N. Y.
By the time you read these words two Dartmouth Television Appearances will be history. The first, the i960 Winter Carnival was featured on CBS "Sports Spectacular" Sunday, February 7. It was great to sit back and see many of the same sights, yet many of the familiar faces were missing. The second tube coverage was the CBS "College Bowl" Sunday, February 28.
Pete Rath and family have been at Fort Ord, Calif., since May. At present, Pete just received notice of the acceptance of a regular commission. He thinks he's signed the next 28 years away to Uncle Sam, but hasn't read the renewal clause yet. Pete ran into John Van de Kamp when he processed through Fort Ord a while ago. All pen pals can reach Pete at Box 594, Marina, Calif.
A loss I know will be felt by many of our classmates came on January 3 with the death of Joan Langtry (Mrs. Philip S. Langtry). She died at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston after a three-year fight against one of the incurable cancers. Her fight began at the Mary Hitchcock Clinic in Hanover, extended through Phil's Army Tour at Walter Reed Army Hospital and ended in Boston. Joan was a big part of the Dartmouth campus from 1952 through 1957. Following marriage in September, 1956, Joan lived with Phil at Wigwam Circle while he completed Tuck School in 1957. A family service was held for Joan at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, N. H., on January 6. I extend our deepest sympathies to Phil over his grievous loss. Those wishing to extend personal thoughts may write to Phil at 280 Dale Rd., Wethersfield, Conn.

Dick Rosen, former assistant to Congressman Katherine St. George, is an associate producer of the new off-Broadway hit play "U.S.A." Dick attended the University of Virginia Law School and is currently in his last year at the New York University Law School. "U.S.A.," an adaption of the famous trilogy by John Dos Passos was produced by Howard Gottfried and directed by Paul Shyre. The play which received excellent comment from most critics is described by Dick as a kaleidoscopic view of life in the USA from 1900 to 1930. It is a concertized version of a vivid narrative, with solo accounts of notable events and celebrities.
