Received a letter from Lyme Armes from Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., just previous to their week's trip down the Florida Keys on the "Gibby" with Lester and Marion Gibson '11 and Bud and Barbara Hoban. They are docked at Pier G, slip #30 same as last year and their address for the winter is P.O. Box 3096, Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
In the same letter I received word that Eleanor and Al Smith's big 1912 Pow Wow in St. Petersburg, Fla., is set for February 21. Those who are planning on being present include Jim and Mrs. English, Bob and Mrs. Fletcher, Ben and Jo Adams, Jerome and Mrs. Lincoln, Chief and Mrs. Warren Wheeler, Col. and Mrs. Albert Townsend (widow of Ty Cobb), Roy and Florence Lewis, Lyme Armes, Roily and Mrs. Linscott, Bud and Barbara Hoban and possibly Chesty and Mrs. Harry M. Brown, Chester and Mrs. Newcomb and Elwyn and Sheila Taber which is quite some delegation of sun worshipers.
Randy Burns and your Sec. attended a meeting Jan. 3 of the Class Reunion Chairmen in the New York district held at the new Dartmouth Club in the Hotel Commodore. David E. Orr '57 from Hanover was in charge and answered all questions raised by the Reunion Chairmen. Late reports from our own 50th Reunion Chairman, Roy E. Lewis, 81 Classmates have so far signified their intention of returning next June. If you have failed to return your card to Roy be sure to do so today.
Dr. Herbert L. Lombard of the Cancer Research Institute at Boston's New England Deaconess Hospital automatically retired on his 70th birthday from the Mass. Dept. of Public Health and from his faculty duties at Harvard and Tufts. We hope to see him at our 50th this June.
Mr. Hildreth Auer, president of the Maiden Trust Company of Maiden, Mass., announced that Edward B. Luitweiler, treasurer of the American Stay Company of Maiden, has been elected a director of the bank at their annual meeting Jan. 22. Congratulations, Eddie.
We regret to advise that Robert D. "Doc"Fletcher who planned to be at Al Smith's "Pow Wow" in St. Petersburg, Fla., Feb. 21, died suddenly at the Mease Hospital in Dunedin on Fri. Jan. 19. The heartfelt sympathy of his friends and Classmates is extended to Mrs. Mary L. Fletcher and his family in their great loss.
