To get underway, I must say that I'm surprised to hear there are still many bachelors in our distinguished class who are yet fancy free, or who are about to take the vows with some lovely lass. Among those for whom the bewitching hour at the altar is close at hand is Bob Creasy. Bob recently became engaged to Judith Ann Davidson, an alumna of Mary Washington College and the University of Virginia. The future bridegroom's other full-time attentions are being spent in the Sloan Hospital of Columbia, Presbyterian Medical Center, where he is a resident in obstetrics.

John Tansey is also among the ranks of those to be married. He became engaged to Anne Kevlin during the summer. Anne was a member of the 1961 class at Smith. The wedding bells were ringing in July for Charles (Zeus) Steven and Peggy Hatcher who were married in Wilton, Conn. On hand to assist in the ceremony were fellow classmates John Hagearty and John Blades. On August 17 Dick Canton and Marilyn Perkins were married in Boston. After a bit of globe-trotting to Europe, they returned to Boston where Dick is associated with We the People, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith. Have any convertible deb. ideas, Dick?

Art Coyne lost his bachelor status in July when he married Lynette Lloyd-Davies. Lynette attended the University of Maine. Art, now a Captain in the Medical Corps, U.S. Air Force, is stationed near Munich, Germany. Rounding out our newlywed list is Mike Sherb who married Sharon Sandrew in New London, Conn., last summer. Mike passed the Connecticut State Bar Exam in August.

Word arrived from Boston that Barryand Mary Ann McCrea were performing in a show, "Space is So Startling," described as a musical with a purpose. The musical, with a cast of 100 representing 17 nationalities, arrived in Boston following a tour that started in Switzerland.

Dr. Bob Caldwell is now in the Air Force with the rank of Captain. Bob has joined the medical staff as general surgeon at the 48th Tactical Hospital at Lakenheath RAF Station, England. From the advertising world comes news that Fred Searby is assistant brands manager for the advertising department of Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. Dr. Clark Bryant, now a Captain in the Air Force, has been assigned to a Military Air Transport Service Unit at McGuire A.F.B. in New Jersey. Clark received his M.D. degree in 1961 from Temple University Medical School.

Academic Note, viz.: In North Andover, Mass., Mike King has joined the Brooks School faculty. He is an instructor in English and art. Charles Ashley is moving ahead at Winnaqunnet High School in Hampton, N. H. After completing three years as an instructor at the school, Chuck has been appointed head of the social studies department. At Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, John Farley has been promoted to the position of assistant professor on Industrial Administration. After receiving his M.BA. from the Tuck School, John went on to the University of Chicago where he completed work for his Ph.D.

From the Gristmill: On the move. . . . Andrew Elsbree has been transferred to Lawrence, Mass., by the Oxford Paper Co. He will serve as the assistant to the mill manager at the Lawrence plant. Before the transfer, Andy held a similar position at the West Carrolton, Ohio mill. Jay Greene has moved across the Bay from Oakland to join the General Steamship Company in San Francisco. In his new habitat. Jay is managing one of the shipping companies for which General Steamship acts as agent.

Don't hesitate to send any tidbits of '57 news or any photos from recent weddings, etc. Until next month . . .
