That great harbinger of spring, the the Alumni Fund drive, is upon us. From all accounts in the Paris edition of the New York Times (I suppose I should devote these columns to letting many of you know what is transpiring in the States and in the world) relief from winter is long past due. An offering to Jack Feldman in exchange for his good offices with Rudra would be worth it. (Rudra is the Hindu god of storm, who, along with Dick Wright at NASA, controls the weather over much of the world.) 0.K., it's a deal. If you will send your contribution, Jack and the Class of Fifty-four will guarantee that warmer temperatures and generally improved weather will follow. The offer stands good only until July.

Fifty-four continues to support the Navy, and especially Naval aviation. Lieut. NeilCitron is at sea in the Mediterranean or the Atlantic aboard the carrier "USS Franklin Delano Roosevelt," and Lieut. Dick Echard has enrolled in the Navy's Test Pilot School at the Naval Air Test Center in Patuxent, Md. At a slightly less advanced stage in the same business (aviation, not rank) is Army Captain Endel Raidmets, who is with the U.S. Army Aviation School at Fort Rucker, Ala.

Attorney Bob Delaney has recently associated with the Hartford, Conn., law firm of Kennedy and Zaccagnino. Bob received his law degree from the University of Connecticut and was previously with the claims department of the Travelers Insurance Company. He lives with wife Elizabeth and their three children in nearby Avon, Conn. ShellyWoolf runs his own business as president of National Hardgoods Distributors, Inc., a nationwide chain of ten houseware, hardware, automotive parts, and paint departments in discount houses. Reports are that the busiShelly and wife Betty Ann had their third child, and third daughter, Cynthia lean, in December. Not very long ago this column reported the association of Neil Hendry and the State Street Bank and Trust Company of Boston. Neil is now moving to be assistant vice president of the First Agricultural National Bank, in Pittsfield, Mass. Another class usurer, Ben Bowden, has also been elected assistant vice president of a Bay State banking institution, this one the First National Bank of Boston. Ben lives in nearby Beverly.

Ed Hayes is director of planning and administration for the Plant Daven Division of General Mills, Inc., and lives in Manchester, N.H. After a couple of years of peregrinations in England, the Sudan, and Columbia College, Oakie Collins is back at his point of departure, as a professor of History at Williams College. Dave Ransom is pastor of the Federated Church of Avon, in Avon, Ill. Stearns Martin is manager of Reid and Hugh's, in Norwich, Conn.

In January, Dr. and Mrs. Gene Aranow announced the birth of a daughter, Lisa Ellen, in Palisades Park, N. J.

Well, that finishes the incoming despatches for another month. As is often the case, the stock of news seems to have thinned as the publishing year winds down. Any and ail contributions would be welcome, especially those containing pictures of Dartmouth's most photogenic class. As in all things, make them glossy.
