Ahmed Osman has been selected as the one student from the United States for a fellowship to Geneva, sponsored by the Islamic Center in Geneva and the Moslem League. The program is from late March to June and includes students from a number of different countries. He will return to Hanover for the summer term. Ahmed joined the family of Malcolm X soon after the tragic assassination. Ahmed had come to know Malcolm X and, I personally believe, had played some part over the last year in encouraging the Muslim leader to follow the orthodox beliefs that Ahmed holds. Ahmed helped arrange Malcolm's visit to Hanover in January when Malcolm spoke at Great Issues and was well received by the undergraduates. Ahmed expressed to me some of his deep grief at this tragedy.
