The Class of 1907 came through once more; for the fourth year out of the last six, 1907 has won the Green Derby. All of which is due to the loyalty and generosity of the members and families of a grand class. Out of 59 living members there were 57 donors who gave a total of $4536 and the balance of the complete result of $10,300 was made up of 47 gifts from widows, 38 from other relatives and 5 memorial funds. In addition there were 26 memorial gifts made by classmates and friends of our deceased members. Bob Kenyon, our head class agent, all assistant class agents, widows, sons and daughters of deceased classmates are to be congratulated.
Fern Liscomb, wife of George EdwardLiscomb, writes that George was terribly upset over missing our 60th Reunion, for he was in the New London, N. H., Hospital at the time. The sympathy of his classmates is extended to him and others for at that 60th we all had a great time.
Leon M. Holman, 1454 Beacon St., Brookline, Mass. 02146 is confined to the house most of the time due to arthritis. If you are in the vicinity, drop in and see him.
In July your secretary and Ethel spent an enjoyable few days with Allan Brown and daughter, Ethel Lindley, at one of his Locust Farm cabins on Highland Lake, East Andover, N. H. Allan always welcomes his classmates.
Since our 60th Reunion Arthur Leavitt has spent two weeks in England, then went to Turkey to visit his son and family and on to Istanbul for a few days to renew old memories there.
"Bishop" Niles sent a photograph taken at his home with his three great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Susan and Peter Niles, and it is something to behold. During August "Bishop" and his daughter, Katherine Parker, paid us a very nice visit here in West Upton.
Now we turn sadly to our class losses. Harry W. Porter of 92 North 4th St., Old Town, Me. 04468, died on June 26 at the Bangor Hospital, and Nathaniel HobbsKnight of Ogunquit, passed away on August 28. For further details see In Memoriam section in this or a subsequent issue.
Classmates having birthdays in October are: Dr. Harry S. Whitaker on the 17th and Harley E. Mann the 21st. We wish them good health and happiness.
Keep your letters coming my way, and try to see the Big Green football team play this fall. I enjoy them both as always.
