"Joe" recently retired as editor of the Bellair News which is published by the Bellair Civic and Property Owners' Association of Bellair, Fla. He has been editor for 5½ years and the December 1966 issue of that publication pays a fine tribute to Joe for his service. A brief quote follows: - "The regular residents of Bellair really have no way of knowing and appreciating the time, effort and brainpower that Joe has given to the Town for about 5½ years of service as the Editor of the Newsletter and as an officer and director of the Association."

He has served as president of the Albany Community Chest and president of the Albany Jewish Community Center. He served in WW I and during WW II was in the National Guard as a Colonel. He has served his Alma Mater, Dartmouth College, as a loyal alumnus. It is appropriate that there be a community expression of its thanks to him by this award."

Many of us who remember our classmate George Munroe, who passed away Jan. 5, 1938, will be pleased to know that his son, George B. Munroe '40 has recently been elected president of the Phelps Dodge Corporation, a leading domestic copper producer. He has had a distinguished business career since his graduation. He served three years in the Navy during WW II. Our congratulations go to the son of our beloved and respected classmate.
