And still the news from Latin America rolls in. Bob Cate, writing from Recife, Brazil tells of his wife Kitty being "legally designated 'Citizen of Recife,' the second foreigner and first woman ever to receive the honor. She is general secretary (i.e. Head) of the State Folklore Commission and her book (in Portuguese, with color plates) 'Folklore in The Carnival of Recife' has just been published."

Dick Murray from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, reports on two classmates - PeteBeck, who phoned him from the country's capital, Tegucigalpa, while on his way to visit the Mayan ruins of Copan; and JackNuber, Latin American representative for Sherwin-Williams, who'll be visiting Dick's town in the near future.

The Polymer Corporation of Reading, Pa., has elected Win Sargeant to vice president, administration. His new duties are added to those of secretary of the corporation, a post he has held since 1966. Win joined Polymer three years ago, leaving the Beryllium Corporation where he had been manager of industrial relations. His non-office hours are devoted to a variety of activities, ranging from the board of directors of the Planned Parenthood Center of Berks County to president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Harry Hampton reports 375 class dues payers at the time of the final dues mailing in February, and has hopes of breaking last year's record of 422. It is now Alumni Fund time, but for those who haven't paid their '67-'68 class dues, please keep in mind that these dues are a necessity to pay for the ALUMNI MAGAZINE and to keep the class organization effective. Why not send Harry a check at the same time you send the College the Alumni Fund check?

"Still on the job at Williston Academy," writes Dan Carpenter. "Get to see many Dartmouth people, but not too many '45s. ... Spend the summers at Keewaydin Camp in Ontario, which is run by Howie Chivers '38. ... Have a son who is a sophomore at Colgate. Another hopes to go to Dartmouth next year. Prep school teaching and coaching are very demanding but a lot of fun."

Vie Smith, now operations manager, Cincinnati territory, for Turner Construction Co., reports "We presently have thirteen active contracts totalling over 60 million in this area, so there is plenty to do."

From Charlotte, Vt., Ed Crane writes about skiing, all sorts of teenagers in high school, a college senior son at University of Vermont who will be commissioned in the army upon graduation, and the hope that he and Joanne will make the fall football weekend.

Here and there.. . . Bob Paulson, keeping his musical talents busy as usual, co-directed the vocal music of the Westboro (Mass.) Players Club production, "How to Succeed in Business without Trying". ... Dick Gilman received an honorary degree of doctor of laws and was the featured speaker at the January commencement of the University of Southern California. ... Rod Sweeney, with a son in the class of '71, reports attending the February fathers' weekend in Hanover.
