76 trombones? No—76 seventeeners who have signed up already for our Fun FiftyFifth. By the time you read this, let's hope that 100 loyal "brothers" of 'l7 will have registered with Thielscher's boosters. While we will miss the plethora of midnight noise of those earlier reunions, some of our interim engagements in Hanover prove that there is nothing lacking in the vocal chords of our aging members. Ask BurglerAllison.

If you want to support a field of independence in education, you can make a modest gift to the newly organized Tuck School drive. They will send you a nice thank you and a free copy of Tuck News—maybe you'll be in it—and though it is a bit late for '71, you can trim a little off your tax bill for '72. Those of us who have not been in Hanover recently will be surprised to view the new structure which will combine the study halls and laboratories of Tuck and Thayer.

A Christmas letter from Harold Friday)Bean of Norway, Maine, reminisced about the old days, and wondered if they are still "wooding it up" when a gal comes to lectures.

In spite of the removal of bothersome cataracts, which, he admits, slows one down a bit, Freddie Gates drives his car to Rotary. He misses former Ohian, MottBrown, and plans to make the pilgrimage to Hanover in June.

Brief lines from Jane Swett contain no good news about our Gil. Jane has had to contend with hospital sessions herself, but is feeling better now. We will check with her on our trip south this month.

We are saddened to have to report the sudden death of Charles F. Peters, who passed away on November 23, two weeks after having moved to Kingman, Ariz., from Miami. The Class extends its sympathy to his wife Anne, who is now living at 4042 Tarrywood, Memphis, Tenn.

On a happier note, we find that ArchEarle keeps busy at corporation controls, and spends his summers at his cottage on Martha's Vineyard. He moves back to "winter quarters" to brave the blizzards of the Connecticut hills. Come up to Vermont sometime and try our brand.

Meredith and Hazel Brill will be with us at reunion. Good news.

Though Willard Wyeth now resides in Andover, N. H., he has a nostalgia for good old Vermont where he started his career as an educator in Brandon. He now lives on the farm of his wife's family near Proctor Academy, where he served for some years as administrator.

Vic Smith tells me that, in a burst of enthusiasm, he mailed a second notice J class dues to a number of '17ers who had already paid. Of course, that elicits mop news from classmates, but our treasurestates that he will publicly apologize to all such members who will meet him on the steps of Dartmouth Hall on June 7, so make certain to be there.
