The mailbag is full again this month, thanks to the various notes and news which you provided Joe Powers when you paid your respective class dues.

I'll start off with news of my high-school classmate, Dave Garver, who sent word that he was married on September 29, 1978, to Constance Haddad of Belview, Wash. Paul Nichol was the best man at Dave's wedding. Dave completed a residency in family medicine, and our last report is that he was in Sacramento involved in a residency in anesthesia at U.C. Davis. By the way, Paul Nichol is currently an internist at the Vancouver, Wash., V.A. Hospital. He is living in Portland.

Kelvin Chin is wrapping up his tenure at Boston College Law School. Kelvin worked at Sun Life of Canada in the Boston area before going to law school and has spent most of his law school career clerking at several downtown firms, among them the firm Bingham, Dana and Gould, and also the firm Choate, Hali and Stewart.

Dee Balle is currently working in Phoenix as an audit manager with Ernst and Whinney, international accounting firm. Dee reports that "the weather is even hotter than anyone thinks."

John Goheen and his wife now have a little girl, Catherine Corbett Goheen, who was born on May 19, 1981. John and his wife are currently living in Shorewood, Wise.

Steve Bruns reports with enthusiasm that he is "alive, well, and having fun in Cleveland."

Susan Berndt Mahoney and her husband Daniel now have three children Melissa, Ryan, and Derrick. They currently live in Rye, N. Y., and Daniel is a stock analyst on the New York Stock Exchange.

George Wolohojian has earned his doctorate and is living in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area. George is currently a research associate with the Bureau of Governmental Research, and my understanding is that he also teaches some courses at the University of Maty land.

Barry Bursey recently earned his doctorate in judicial law from the University of Arizona College of Law in Tucson. Barry had been an adjunct professor of languages at the University of Arizona for four years before entering the graduate program in law. Barry also holds master's degrees in English and German from the University of Arizona. Congratulations, Barry. It's too bad that you can't stand academia.

Rick Wild recently married Catherine M. Maxwell. After Dartmouth, Rick graduated from the medical school at the University of Vermont. He then went on to the U.S. Army Medical Corps, where he earned the rank of major. Rick now has a private practice in Maryland and is attending the evening division of the George Washington University Law School. Rick, congratulations and best of luck. You have a few more degrees to go before you catch up with Barry Bursey, but see what you can do.

John Elias is now living in New York City. John graduated from Harvard Law School and recently finished a master's in taxation at New York University Law School.

Kurt Gorman and his wife Sandi will be celebrating the birthday of their second child, Kelley Elizabeth Gorman, in February of 1983. Kurt lives in the Bay Area and continues to work for Mellon Bank as a vice president and manager of the San Francisco office.

Phil Brown reports that he is working in Allentown, Pa., as an assistant administrator in an acute care hospital. Phil's wife is currently an M.B.A. student at New York University.

And finally, a closing paragraph on the various classmates whom I ran into at the Colgate and Harvard football games this fall in Hanover. Bob Ashton and our loyal class treasurer, Joe Powers, were both in attendance at the Harvard game. I also ran into Doug and Ann Bate, along with their little boy, Bradley. Brad Little and his wife Meg and daughter Enslin were also in attendance. Dave Walkom made the trip from Windsor, Ontario, where he is a partner in an independent insurance adjustment company. And Dave Clark is now a permanent resident of Hanover, having moved there from Atlanta, Ga., with his wife, Margie Wagers. Dave left the practice of law behind him in Georgia and is now an officer and part-owner of the Hephaestus Corporation in Hanover. Margie, who is also an attorney, is currently working in risk mahagement at Mary Hitchcock Hospital. Although neither of them is actively practicing law at this time, they both passed the New Hampshire bar exam this past summer for good measure.

I hope that all of you have a great holiday season. Best wishes, and I'll see you next month.
