Thanks to one of my very consistent sources, Allen Stowe, I have the following item to report: The usual group got together at Sugarbush for the annual ski bash at Alex Summer's including Sam Bolby, Dave Hiley, Bill Lum, Dave Harrison, Arnie Zigler, Tom Brock, and Eric Andrew; plus, the group was augmented this year by Charlie Rattigan, who is living in Virginia. Charlie was visiting Alan with his wife Tina and two kids for the weekend and then joined the bachelors for the skiing. Tom Brock unfortunately was unable to ski, having had back surgery recently. Dave Harrison, it should be noted, came in all the way from the Washington State to attend.

Dick Ossen writes that he "ran into Dana Johnson at Stratton, Vt.; he has started his own textile company in New York and is living in Westport, Conn." Dick also met up with Hank Greer and John Adams at Stratton. John is a neighbor of his in Briarcliff Manor and is a senior vice president with Bankers Trust in N.Y.C.

Tom Beadel wrote that he and his wife Caryl finally left rainy Syracuse for the "more visceral pleasures of Santa Barbara," where Tom continues in the diamond business, covering from San Francisco south. They are currently house-hunting. Tom also voiced a warning about his tennis game, which he is getting ready for the 25th reunion.

Robert Irvine has joined Humana Inc. as director of public relations. Bob had been director of communications for Richardson-Vicb in Wilton, Conn.

I recently ran into Gordon Bigler at a Wall Street luncheon. Gordon is now with MacKa; Shields and is one of their key portfolio managers. He was formerly with Smith Barney.. A because of a change in sales coverage at Smith Barney, I will have frequent occasion to speak with Seth Strickland.

Allen Stowe's son Chris visited a number of southern universities recently, which gave A1 len a chance to make contact with, among oters, Murray Janis, who is a criminal lawyer with a firm specializing in the field in Rich mond, Va., and Peter Easter, a lobbyist Virginia. Peter's wife and children (a son and a daughter) waged a long campaign to convince Chris that the University of Virginia should be his first choice.

Peter Easter reports that he and Jerry Boyle spent a week at the University of Virginia attending a course given by 1.8.M. Jerry is with I.B.M. and is located in my hometown of Tucson, Ariz., where he has two kids at the University of Arizona. Another sign of age Bill Gundy and his wife Jane celebrated their 25 th wedding anniversary and had a surprise party at which 70 people showed up.

An in-depth article by Morton Kondracke, appearing in the March 4 issue of the Wall StreetJournal, was entitled "El Salvador, Vietnam, and Central American Policy." Morton is executive editor of the New Republic. Hope to hear from some of you!
