In the world of California real estate, Larry Hazard has been making news with the information of Commercial Real Estate Services (CRS). CRS is a fullservice brokerage, created by Larry and two Other East Bay realtors, which specializes in commercial and industrial properties. Larry had been vice president of Royal LePage's Industrial Division and a sales consultant with Iliff, Thorn & Co. He is active in the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, the National Ski Patrol, and the Benicia (Calif.) Rotary Club.
In the world of art publishing, DaveUsher has made news with The Greenwich Workshop, Inc. of Trumbull, Conn. Dave seeks out living artists who have public appeal and reproduces their work under exacting color processes. These limitededition prints are then signed by the artists and distributed through some 1,100 art dealers countrywide. Success in the print publishing business requires heavy up-front production costs, the ability to identify commercially viable artists and art styles, and a loyal stable of art distributors. Dave has obviously managed all three aspects well; from its founding in 1972, The Workshop had grown into a $ 17 million business by 1988. Prints published range from wildlife to western scenes and, most recently, modern Chinese art. Astronaut Alan Bean's painting "That's How It Felt to Walk on the Moon" was also the subject of a recent run. (Chuck Allen has also Seen interested in Bean's art.) The Usher hand was, of course, also generously present in the printing of our 25 th Reunion book. A round of snaps for our departing class newsletter editor, Tom Komarek, and for our new scribe, Gordy Williamson. Tom will be heading up our 50th birthday celebration next year. Send all news, etc., to either Gordy or me.
