A final reminder to all that it's not too late to sign up for our fabulous 45th. If you've been on the fence until now about making the trip to Hanover, hopefully a review of the March "nostalgia" issue of the DAM will tip the balance in favor of joining the anticipated 200-plus classmates, spouses, and SOP's who will be with us June 10—13.

After reviewing the names of the '45 s and '47s thoughtfully furnished in HarlanBrumsted's newsletter, I'm sure each of us has found one or more friends in those classes with whom we'd like to swap sea stories. Incidentally, this will be the last time we will meet with adjacent classes under the Dartmouth class reunion plan, so let's take advantage of being with our friends in '45 and '47 for the final time in a reunion setting.

As Harlan rightly has pointed out, the 45 th presents a wonderful opportunity not only to renew old friendships, but gives us the chance to make new friends with perhaps newly-developed retirement interests that could be shared in some fashion in the years to come.

Two final comments concerning the 45th: please give me a call (603/448-6941) if you'd like the most recent address and phone number of a classmate (or mates) with whom you'd like to check reunion plans; and do your best to encourage close fraternity, dorm, club or team friends to return in June. With your interest and help we can make this one an even greater success!

At reunion there will be a class meeting at which a new slate of officers will be elected. Your nominating committee, ably chaired by Reg Pierre, has, at this point, developed an excellent group of nominees consisting of president, Jud Hannigan; vice president, BobKimball; secretary, Chip Coleman; treasurer, Ham Bailey; newsletter editor, HarlanBrumsted; alumni council representative, Dune Fitchet; head agent, Welles Fendrich; bequest co-chairmen, Frank Ettari and JackWhitman. There will, of course, be the op- portunity for discussion of this slate as well as nominations from the floor should you desire.

Speaking of class officers, congratulations are in order to President Gus Gillaugh and his new bride, Eileen, who were wed on January 26. We look forward to greeting the new couple at the 45 th!

Belated congratulations also to RalphFifield who has been made a director of the New Hampshire Thrift Bancshares Inc. and a director and executive vice president of the Lake Sunapee (N.H.) Savings Bank, the company's principal subsidiary. His responsibilities include developing and implementing overall policy, plans and programs for the commercial finance activities of the bank, and he also is the chief operating officer of the Lebanon office of the LSSB.

Recent mail brings the sad news of the passing of Dr. Theodore R. Thayer and Howard Frederick Shouldice last December. Sincerest condolences are extended to wives Nancy Thayer and Maria Shouldice, as well as to other family members.

All for now—see you in June!
