Forbes Delany, M.D., a member of our class executive committee, has been nominated by the board of selectmen of Greenwich, Conn., to serve a four-year term as a member of the Greenwich Board of Health and as its physician of record if approval is obtained from the town's representative Town Meeting. Forbes has an impressive history of dedication to his profession: association with the Greenwich Hospital for some 40 years as medical chief of staff and subsequently as director of radiology, to the community which has benefitted from his service on many civic organizations and committees, and not least to the College and to our class.
Larry Johnson, a dedicated Tuck School annual giving class agent, told us that our classmates who comprise the Tuck School class of 1944 achieved this year for the first time a 59-percent participation rate although none of the members returned for the second year and M.B.A. status. The August class newsletter contains excellent photographic coverage of the '43 Cape Cod get-together held last June, which earned Jean Grant the (optional) appellation "Scoop," so far accorded only one otherMargie "Scoop" Leavitt. Also a quiet thank you is due to Pres Brooks for his role in bringing this affair together while Chan Stevens is recuperating. Charlie Cusack checked in recently, among other things inquiring about our 55th Reunion. It will be here sooner than any of us can imagine so plan to attend and act soon for reservations. The dates are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 15, 16, and 17, 1998. Our class will be quartered at Buchanan Hall, a new dormitory at Tuck. Bob Gray, our Reunion chairman, tells us he has chosen as our logo a reproduction of the Baker weathervane. Plans are definite for Monday evening dinner at the new wing at Thayer Hall, for Tuesday evening at the Inn dining room, and for a farewell luncheon on Wednesday at the Bema. Should you be in contact with any of the widows of our classmates please extend an invitation to each of them to attend. Bob is considering activities for inclusion in the agendum and invites us to contact him with advice and suggestions. You may contact Bob Gray at (603) 5262468, or at Box 505, New London, NH 03257. Sadly we report the deaths of Martin "Whitey" Meigs, T. Hudner "Hud" King, and Emil "Bus" Mosbacher Jr. We offer our sincere sympathies to their families.
