The November 30,1998, edition of Newsday brought news that Michael Mascari, as executive director of the Nassau County chapter of the Association for the Help of Retarded Children, has responsibility for all operations, including residential services, for more than 400 adults and daily programs for over 1,400 individuals. He also works with a board of directors and a membership of over 8,000 in a variety of fundraising activities. After Dartmouth Mike received a master's degree in social work administration from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and then spent a year with Volunteers in Service to America. Later in his career he held positions for the City of New York and associate commissioner for the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Dr. Nicholas Rummo, was recently named the new director of cardiopulmonary services at the Northern Westchester Hospital Center. In this position he will be responsible for further developing the hospital's respiratory therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation services. In addition he will provide support for the patient care staff on the cardiopulmonary and critical care units at the hospital. After Dartmouth Nick received his medical degree from Duke Medical Center.

The back page of the February 1999 edition of Dartmouth Life contained a terrific interior photo of the new Rauner Library in Webster Hall. The formal dedication, to be held on April 16-17, will be attended by many '65s due to our class's major role in its renovation. To celebrate the occasion, Bob Blake suggested that we all gather together in the new study areas for a "class of '65 nap!" Seriously, when in Hanover be sure and stop in to see this remarkable new facility. A total of 195 classmates contributed to the project, with 125 giving more than $100, 34 giving between $5,000 and $24,999, and 26 giving $25,000 or more. Total funds raised amounted to $1,065,000 as of October 16, 1998. Funds in excess of the $1,050,000 required to fund the three rooms will go toward furnishings for these rooms. Our entire class should be extremely proud of this accomplishment and its successful completion under the able leadership of SteveWaterhouse and his team.

Our class continues to sponsor many interesting smaller projects, such as the Native American Awards for Scholarship and Leadership, memorial books honoring deceased classmates, athletic sponsor participation, Freshman Trip scholarships, and the Friends of Baker Library.

I recently caught up with FrankCostello in Washington, D.C. A partner in the Washington law firm of Zuckert Scoutt and Rasenberger, L.L.P., Frank and his wife, Sarah, recently moved into a new home in the Washington area. His law practice includes representation of many large travel and tour operators as well as airport development projects in the Caribbean.

The next column will include news and notes from the Bermuda mini. We already have spies at Mid-Ocean and Port Royal to verify the golf tales of Webster, Orr,Lochridge, Atkinson, at. al., and will report on all other events (including class naps). Hope to see you there!
