Speaking of impressive, Aurora Leute Mafzkin has returned to Dartmouth this summer for a Ph.D. program at the Center for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences, which is part of the Medical School. She writes: "I took most of the last year off to play mom to my two kids (Alexandra, 3, and Jonah, 7 months). I've also been training for my first sprint triathlon this summer. Training has been wonderful, but a long, slow process after two sedentary pregnancies and I'm not expecting to break any records this year." Husband Paul is a family doctor in Claremont, New Hampshire.
La-Vie Borde-Perry and her husband, William Borde-Perry (Princeton '97), announced the birth of their first child, Zora Alexis Borde-Perry, on January 16. Due to La-Vie developing preeclampsia during the pregnancy, she gave birth 10 weeks earlier than expected. Zora weighed 2 pounds, 11 ounces at birth, but after spending five weeks in the NICU, Zora was welcomed home by her loving parents in late February. Alumni who showered her include Jeneil Russell, Keish Hester, Michele Baez, Chandra Guglik, Holly Eaton '98, Stephanie Samuels-Clarke '99 and Shamyune Jones '95. As of mid-May Zora turned 4 months old and was doing well at 10 pounds, 21.5 inches.
And some more great news from Amy (Schneeberger) Staubley. In February Amy moved from Boston to Austin to join her now-husband, Marc, who relocated to manage his firm's Austin office.
