Hello all! I’m still working through all the news that was sent over the summer. Folks are doing very well! Starting off, Dana Neutze received her M.D. in May from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude and received the Balder Award for graduating first in her class. Prior to medical school Dana earned a master’s in philosophy and a Ph.D. in molecular genetics at Cambridge University. Dana is now a resident in family medicine at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Lindsay Harrow and Hank Brier ’98 were married in Los Cabos, Mexico, on July 12. “It was an amazing weekend and we were so lucky to have so many Dartmouth friends who traveled from all over the country and from as far away as London to attend. Class of ’00s in attendance were Meghan Hewit McCormick, Louisa Serene Schneider, Allison Taff, Rebecca Dirksen, Libby Huffman Wilkinson, Jess Post, Cate Alderson Edell and Gregg Edell (along with their new baby Morgan, who stamped her passport for the first time!) as well as Jordan Richards ’98, John Seni ’98, Dom Lanza ’98, Matt Sechrest ’97 and Mike Wong ’97 and of course the father of the bride, Richard Harrow ’63. We had dinner and dancing on the beach and guests were seated at tables named after our favorite places in Hanover. The reception ended with a very wet Dartmouth picture after the entire wedding party had jumped into the pool. Hank and I are living in San Francisco, where I own interior design firm Anyon LLC and Hank practices law with the private equity group of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP in their Palo Alto office.”
Congratulations are in order for Cynthia and Justin May, who welcomed son Gavin Statman into the world on July 10. Justin teaches second grade at a public elementary school and Cynthia does lab work for the University of Vermont assessing the health of Lake Champlain’s waters. Also, this news is a tad bit delayed, but Steve and Lauren (Hickey) Magoun had son Jack Robertson Magoun on June 14, 2007. I bet Jack is anxiously awaiting his birthday party to celebrate turning 2!
David Black-Schaffer finished his dissertation for his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at Stanford in April and graduated in June. “In May our daughter Ellen was born and I took off three weeks to help take care of her. In June I started working at Apple on parallel programming systems, and my wife, Annica, will go back to work on her Ph.D. in theoretical physics starting in the fall. Once I get over the sticker shock of how much daycare costs in this country I’ll be pretty much settled into finally being an adult with a family and job.”
In August Lauren (Bellucci) Bilello celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband, Ben, a professional jazz musician. Lauren and Ben were married last year on a beautiful, sunny day on the water in Connecticut. Dartmouth alums in attendance were Allison MacDonald, Amelia Thrall, Tamara Trella and Catharine Hyson ’03. Lauren, who recently finished her master’s degree, teaches music in Connecticut and is very excited to be starting in a new school district this fall.
Lastly, congratulations are in order for Errik Anderson and his beautiful wife, Emily, who welcomed Catherine Tassler Anderson into the world on January 20. Cate graciously allowed Obama to share in the historic nature of the day alongside all 8 pounds, 7 ounces of her. The family is happy and healthy and settling into their new home in Hanover.
