It was wonderful to have the Dartmouth Hockey team here for two games with the U. of Minn. However, at several points in the contest, many of us really wondered if it was the Dartmouth hockey we had seen so much of during our Hanover days. The outcome was 11-0 and 10-3 but Minnesota is certainly an above-average team, and the Big Green boys tried hard. It was good to see Dave Wiggins there, just in from Tokyo and Manila. Dave reports a wonderful sojourn in that part of the world, where he has done some writing for the newspaper there, as well as studying foreign trade. He is now on his way to Washington, D. C., where he will report to Navy intelligence for some study in French. JG Wiggins had a chance to see John Hatfield in California en route, and reports that John is still deeply involved working for his doctorate in psychology. Howie Reed had a small gathering after the second game which saw law students Jim Rogers and Wally Bush, plus several others in attendance.

We certainly appreciated all the splendid Christmas cards and the thoughts they conveyed. Our being in Ontario until December 20 prevented us from reciprocating with any of you, but we were thinking of the great '51s and wondering just where they were on Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Al and Jean Katz are the proud parents of Jeffrey Katz, born October 13. Shortly after the heir apparent's arrival, Al departed for Germany with Uncle Sam s Army, and Jean reports she and the baby hope to join Al early this year.

One of our more highly paid spies in the Mediterranean reports the sight of FrankO'Neil recently, as well as that of MortBriggs. Dick Pugh is no longer habitating the foggy halls of Oxford, but there to take his place is Marsh Cohen, who is at Magdalen College where he is a Sheldon traveling fellow from Harvard - H-A-R-with a V, V-A-R-with a D. Marsh also participated in the Salzburg seminar last summer.

It was startling news to hear that two of our hale and hearty bachelors, Jeff O'Connell and John Hyland, as well as Mr. and. Mrs.Earl Tyler, and the Justin McCarthys visited the historic little village of Hanover in December. The McCarthys are now making their home in Jacksonville, Fla., the Tylers in Watertown, Mass., John Hyland from St. Louis, Mo., and Jeff from Cambridge and some bar on Cape Cod.

THE MARRIED SET

From the underground in the East comes word that Jim Bovaird was Al Mori's and Dorothy Wyman's best man in their wedding (reported earlier) last July. Taking that turn in the road towards the town of blissful happiness way last summer was Page O'Brien and Marilyn Abbott. Charlie Richardson ush- ered in this ceremony. Page, at last report, was in the Air Force and stationed at AFB Olmstead, Middletown, Pa. The sleigh sometimes goes before the horse in our little letter to you, and we know Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tyler will not mind our reporting their marriage of November 29 now, after we had already reported them as being in Hanover. Earl is an Air Force 2nd Lieut, and his wife, the former Joan Flet of Boston, calls Lasalle Jr. College her alma mater. Bob Kreidler took the train in from Cambridge to usher in the festive ceremony. Martin Person of the Coast Guard was married last fall to Louise Dresser of Wellesley, Mass. Bob Tomfohrde supported the couple as a '51 usher. Louise graduated from Dana Hall and Mt. Holyoke, and the CG at least permitted them enough time for a honeymoon in northern New England.

Dating back to last summer was the marriage of Andy Pincus and Catherine Clark. Andy is a corporal in the Army and Catherine attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N. Y. And the interesting note in this wedding was its location - Hanau-ammain, Germany. Back home in Paterson, N. J., last summer was the marriage of Joan Low and Charlie Storer. Andy Timmerman, Marine lieut., was among the group of hale and hearty ushers helping out. Joan graduated from Mt. Holyoke College and it's great news to hear that Charlie returned last summer from Korea, and was released on July 31 from active duty. The underground didn't report just what Charlie is doing, but we do know that the Storers are living in New York City. Right in the newly married set, although it's been several weeks already, is Mr. andMrs. Frank B. O'Neil. Frank was in the Mediterranean several paragraphs ago but we now marry him off as of January 2. The Mrs. is the former Angela LaDuca of Buffalo, N. Y., and a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy. Frank is still sporting the jg bars of the United States Navy.

Approaching the last fall marriages, we find Jane Muchmore and William (Bill) Ricketts, being married October 10, in Lawrenceville, N. J. Ken Smith was best man, and following their trip to the southern states, the Ricketts will reside in the East. And last but not least for this month, we proudly report the marriage of Jack Skewes and Constance Boyd. Jim Bovaird again hits the ushering lineup, along with Neil Crampton and Jim Robinson (the Eastern Jim R.) Connie went to Wheelock College and hails from Beantown, and again it is good news to hear that another of the '51ers has been released from service. Jack was a Lieut, in the Army in Korea. If they could tear themselves away from their honeymooning spot in Bermuda, they are now home in Medford. The big date was December 12.

The flu has certainly had its grips on us the past couple of weeks, so will have to cut a bit short for this month. My typist (wife) hasn't the strength to go on. Drop us a card and tell us what the prospects for the new year are for you. I doubt that many of us will equal Jim Danaher's feat of 1953 - twins - but you can all try. I don't have to since our family will be enlarging come May.
