This is being written during Carnival Weekend many miles from that jolly spot. During the past week or two, we have speculated with a few Dartmouths and non-Dartmouths about Carnival and how it would be to roll back into town for it. The general conclusion was that unless a party of our contemporaries at Hanover could be organized, such an excursion would be a fiasco. I can feel the cold glare of the undergrads appraising the old men of '48. So I turn back to my fireside, look outside at the snow longingly, and check my notes to see what those former Carnival Queens are doing to increase the race; how those former snow kings are making out as Captains of Industry, and the.professions and arts.

while in Omaha the other day, we had the pleasure of having lunch with Tom Baldwin. Me and Mary Jane are all settled in a new home out there following his transfer from Chicago last summer. He is heading up the Group Insurance end of Mutual of Omaha and spends a good deal of his time in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York at regional offices. As disappointment of note, he told about the time early last summer when a trip to Honolulu for two or three weeks was necessary and he was the logical person. Due to the circumstances, it would be OK for the man who went to take his spouse with him. But lo and behold, Mary Jane was all set to deliver another heir and no trip. Sometimes life just ain't worth livin'.
