The annual 1953 gathering at the Hotel Continental after the Harvard-Dartmouth game was much more fun than listening to the victorious strains of "Fair Harvard" in the Stadium. Glimpses were caught of Demetrius Latchis, Dick Giesser, Bob Stiles,Bruce Sherman, Fred Whittemore, DaveFlorence, Jack Crisp, Gus Allen, GeorgeDavies, John Home, and Dick Fleming. Both refreshment stands were visited by Warren Wentworth, Herm West, Pete Hutchins, John Kingsland, and Byron Menides. Standing directly behind them, gently pushing, were the following guys you'll remember: Dud Milliken, Earl Robinson, JackThim, Bob Lonsbury, Buzz D'Avanzo and Neil Isaacs. Jockeying into position from the rear were also seen Bill Johnson, ShermHorton, Bill King, Bill Teare, Monk Robinson, Doug Perkins, John Dodge, and PaulPaganucci. And getting a breath of fresh air near the open door were Dick Blum, Bill Vitalis, and Howie Clery. A grand time was had by all - with many 51's, 52's, and 54's joining the festivities also. This event has grown to be a great '53 tradition.

Prior to the game, early Saturday morning, your Executive Committee met and received the wonderful news that Dick Blum has accepted the invitation of the Executive Committee to be our 10th Reunion Chairman. He was personally present at the meeting, coming all the way from Cleveland, to enthusiastically say he'd try to give us the biggest and best 10th ever. June 1963 is just around the corner and already Dick is getting organized to make this an occasion none of us will want to miss. Our hats are off to Dick for taking on this important class position. As time goes on, we will be bringing you vital information of his plans.

A welcome letter was received from Leo Clancy, who late in July joined Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. as Employment Manager for their New Haven operation. He had previously been with Western Union Telegraph in New York. Leo is now fully settled in Cheshire, Conn., with his wife Peggy, daughter Cathleen, age three-and-ahalf, and expectant newcomer to arrive near Christmastime. And speaking of new arrivals, Bill and Jean Vitalis are thrilled with their new daughter, Rita Genevieve, born August 11.

News from New Canaan, Conn., where Jacquelin Perry has announced her engagement to Charlie Fleet. Charlie's new singing partner graduated from Smith in 1956 and is planning to usher in 1962 with plenty of excitement by walking the aisle on Dec. 30. Congratulations to you both from all of us.

Wedding announcements are in order for Bill Hazelton and his new bride, Theresa M. Libbon of Laurelton, N. Y. Theresa was an instructor at Flushing Hospital School of Nursing after her graduation from St. John's University Graduate School of Education. Jack Crisp and Kathryn Murphy of Lafayette, Ind., were married in Mountain Lakes, N. J., in August. Dave Florence, Jack Patten, and Phil Fast were all ushers for Jack, who is now a Chief Resident in Surgery at Roosevelt Hospital, N.Y.C. From Northboro, Mass., comes word of (Doctor) War- ren Fisher's wedding to the former Dorcas Ford in August. Warren is now serving his three-year residency in internal medicine at Mary Hitchcock in Hanover. He previously graduated from Yale School of Medicine and interned at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Dorcas will know exactly what Warren is talking about at all times since she is a graduate of The University of Connecticut School of Nursing.

The (Doctor) hit parade continues with the news that (Dr.) Ross Mclntyre of Omaha, Neb., will be leaving the U.S. to help tackle the eradication of cholera in Pakistan. He is a member of the U.S. Public Health Service, which will set up headquarters in Dacca, Pakistan. Ross feels very definitely that "you can't do a bad job over there; if you save only one Pakistani's life, he's going to be a friend of the U.S. - this is the type of program we need."

BREVITY IN '53 ISMS:
