Although the elections are now past, we would like to cast a vote for our modest Newsletter editor, Hugh Chapin. We suddenly realized that Hugh would not toot his own horn in the Squaw-ker, so it is up to ye ed. to report on his current status. Hugh Chapin was elected secretary-treasurer of the 3,000-member Insurance Brokers Association of Massachusetts. He has served as a member of the state insurance association's governing board for the past five years and has been very active in directing the organization's activities. In September 1961 Hugh joined with Willard Wood to form the Chapin-Wood Insurance Agency, and having heard no cries of poverty assume they are doing well.

While speaking of Bill Wood, who together with Hugh did such a terrific job on our alumni registry, we might mention that Bill, too, does his part. Not only does he assist Hugh with the Squaw-ker, but is vice chairman of the Cambridge Chapter of the Red Cross, vice chairman of the present Regional Fund and has served as a vice chairman of the National Fund. He is also a director of the Cambridge Y.M.C.A. and the Chamber of Commerce plus which, he is a vestryman of his church and a member of the United Fund Committee of Cambridge. (Which one of these is selling the insurance? Ed. note.)

Dick HiH, with the National Life Insurance Company of Vermont, has been elected a director and regional councilor of the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region Association, a promotional organization for the west-central area of New Hampshire.

We mentioned Sax Fletcher's marriage in the last issue but just to keep everyone up-to-date, e and Mrs. Fletcher are now residing at 73 Ridge Ave., Darien.

The United Improvement & Investing Corporation, a diversified real estate company in New York, has just made the intelligent move of appointing Bob Gallagher a vice president. Bob was formerly a senior investment analyst at Allstate Insurance Company and was then with Investors Diversified Services Incorporated in Minneapolis. Bob is now living at 23 Circle Road, Darien.

Herman Gadon was with the Crescent Co. from 1950 to 1958 and has returned after a year instructing in Labor Relations at MIT, as administrative assistant to the vice-president in charge of operations.

Bob MacKinnon of Hurley, N. Y., who practices law at 233 Fair Street, Kingston (for those of you who are now in jail in that vicinity), has just been appointed the counsel for the Kingston Schools Consolidated Board of Education. Bob is the lawyer for the town of Hurley, secretary and a director of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association, and a commissioner of the local Alcoholic Control Board. (Sorry that the Board seems to need Alcoholic Control but am glad Bob is in control anyway.)

The Rev. William Rogers has assumed the pastorate of the Methodist Church in Rocky Hill, Conn. Bill was pastor of the East Berlin Methodist Church for three and a half years and was with a Hartford insurance firm for ten years before entering the ministry and received his bachelor of divinity from Hartford Seminary. Bill, his wife and three children should now be settled in Rocky Hill and hopefully some of you in the area might welcome him.

The Rev. Damian Prew, O.C.D., is a Delegate Provincial for Third Orders of Cartel in the United States and we received news of him through his direction of a dosed weekend retreat for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Third Order of Carmel Discalced. Father Damian, since his ordination jo the priesthood in the Carmelite Order of Discalced Fathers, has had much experience as a retreat master.

That takes care of the Protestants and Catholics, anyone who wishes equal space should write promptly and lengthily.

Frank Mahoney, who received his master's degree at Boston University and is now studying for a doctorate, is directing a science workshop at the Enfield Elementary School in Thomasville, Mass. Frank lives with his wife and children at 6 Pleasant St., Sharon, Mass.

Gene Whittier who received his M.D. from Boston University, interned at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash., and Boston City Hospital, has just formed an association with Dr. Joseph Saunders as internal medicine specialists at 103 High Street, Greenfield, Mass. In 1954 Dr. Whittier opened a private practice in Massachusetts and left in 1960 to study internal medicine with Boston University medical service at Boston City Hospital. While there he served as junior resident at the city hospital in 1960 and senior resident last year. Gene and his wife, Lucille and their four children by this time should be settled in Greenfield. Since most of Gene's classmates should be needing internal medicine by now, we have thrown in this information although Gene has asked for no mail orders, please.

While on the subject of doctors, BobBerry is now on the faculty of Columbia University and on the medical staff of St. Vincent's Hospital, New York City. Bob got his degree at Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons and before moving to New York was on the staff of the Yale Medical School.

Most of the above news concerns our New England residents because they com- municate. Since we don't like to be provin- cial, let us know where you are and what you are doing.
