Since the holidays, I've received more news from our class than we've had snow in Hanover - but we've had no snow.

A few Christmas cards bore some news. Al and Sally Brown sent a picture Christmas card with daughters Janet and Wendy on the front. Al is currently an operations research analyst for A. O. Smith Company in Milwaukee. Nancy and Walt Taylor wrote on the back of their Christmas card that they had enjoyed his year interning in Traverse City, Mich. They skied much until she broke her leg. Now Walt is one of three doctors at an Air Force Dispensary in Bedfordshire, North of London. Pete and LeslieO'Neill wrote from out California way where Pete is finishing up in business at Stanford. At the moment Pete is busy interviewing with no definite plans yet. The picture of their two daughters Karen and Carolyn sitting with San Francisco Bay at their backs certainly made California seem inviting right when news of the floods did not. I learned from his sister, one of my former students, that Mo Monahan and wife Alice are proud parents of a new son, Robert Dennison Monahan. Mo has just joined the Riegel Paper Corp. as chief process development engineer. They have just moved from Maine to Pennsylvania where the firm is located. Dave Cohen writes of his engagement to Jane Cohler of St. Paul, Minn. An early April wedding is planned.

Dirk Frankenberg paid us a surprise visit the other day. He had been in Hanover for several days lecturing to biology students who will follow up their particular course this summer with a session at the University of Georgia Island off the Georgia coast. Dirk, with his Ph.D. from Emory College in Atlanta, is an assistant professor at the University of Georgia in Biology. We could certainly use him back in the nets.

I can make my announcement of DickPearson's appointment at the University of Indiana more complete because of an article sent by the News Service. He is now an Assistant Professor of Education in the Department of Counseling and Guidance out in Bloomington, Ind. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois just last fall. Charlie MacVean recently received his Ph.D. from Cornell. He attended Cornell under the provisions of the U. S. Navy's Junior Line Officers Advanced Scientific Educational Program which is jointly sponsored by the U. S. Navy Bureau of Personnel and the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif. I presume that his wife Ellen and daughters Lynn and Amy are with him currently in Bainbridge, Md., where he is attending the U. S. Naval Nuclear Power School. And for you guys with a little extra money to spend on chance: Phil Langley, as the papers say, "a highly promising young official, has picked off one of the best plums in harness racing." He has been appointed director of racing and racing secretary for the Chicago Downs and Fox Valley Trotting Clubs both mid-season tenants at Sportsmans Park. Phil has wide experience in the racing field. During summer vacations he broke into the sport the hard way, beginning on the grounds crew. He has attended the United States Trotting Association's official school and holds a license as an associate judge. He now lives in Chicago with his wife Margo and two children, Peter, age 3, and Meg, age 1½. Nice going, Phil!

In December, Bill Keane became engaged to Janet Christy. Bill is currently doing graduate work in Boston. Back in October Jim Jensen married Connie West in the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. Bob Davidow became engaged to Alison Jones in the fall and married her this past December. Bob holds an LL.B. degree from the University of Michigan and is now serving in the U. S. Army stationed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.

Lou Gerber has been named product advertising supervisor for resilient tiles in the floor division advertising section of the Armstrong Cork Company. Paul Auvil is at Northwestern University as an instructor in the department of physics. Bob Bailey is at Yale in the Department of Music. PeteBulkley is a First Lieutenant on an icebreaker, the "U.S.S. Staten Island," out of San Francisco. Bad pun — I could use him and his boat to help me start off a few interviews. Considerably more serious, in my estimation, Jay Butterfield is in Viet Nam with the Air Force. He might appreciate a few letters — Captain J. T. Butterfield, 05405277, 18th AOD, APO 96, San Francisco, Calif. This is as of September so perhaps things have changed. Barry Davis is a student in the Zoology Department at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. And Mike D'EIia is a Ph.D. candidate and an assistant instructor at Cornell University Business School. Dick Dunnells is the general manager of Television Communications Corporation in Charlottesville, Va., and also attending the University of Virginia Law School. Showing his concern for how much we emmets have to pay for tractors, AlanHurlbut is a financial analyst in the Ford Motor Company's Tractor Division in Birmingham, Mich. I hope he can cultivate a few good deals.

That's about it for now. On behalf of the class I would like to say happy birthday and happy anniversary to those of you who, in the last few years, haven't forgotten that we must face up to such events now and then. How about some more Voxes Clamantising?
