We are sorry to report the death of Gil Tricco in July. Details appear in an obituary prepared by Tom Gustenhoven.

Dick Madison is Director of Groceries Mer- chandising with Loblaws, Inc., in Buffalo. N. Y. In this position Dick is in charge of all buying and merchandising. Loblaws is a retail grocery chain with 250 stores doing an annual volume of over 300 million dollars ill New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Tom Gustenhoven continues his engineering career with Peter W. Kero, general contractors specializing in the construction of bridges, highways, and heavy excavating, in Carlstadt, N. J. Ralph Bachwich is President of Michigan Soft Water, Inc., and Artesian Water Conditioning, Inc. in Flint, Mich. Lt.Comdr. Lloyd VanLunen continues his naval career on the USS Sea Leopard. Bob Motlong is an attorney in Denver.

The inauguration of Joe Marsh in May as President of Concord College in Athens, W. Va. was reported in a previous issue of the MAGAZINE. The Class of '47 was represented at this ceremony by Norm Fink and Bob Cierzniewski. Considerable information on the ceremony is available and will be covered in the Newsletter.

Al Hall will take a year of sabbatical leave at Cambridge University, England, before returning to full-time teaching at St. Paul's School, Concord, N. H. Al has been a member of the St. Paul's faculty since 1955, and director of the advanced studies program since it started in March 1957.

Dick Sears has been appointed special agent in Maine where he will serve with Boston Insurance Group Agents. He will be associated with state agent, Paul E. Goode, in Portland. Dick was with the National Shawmut Bank of Boston for a short time before he began his insurance career in 1952. He had extensive experience in fire and crime underwriting before he joined the Boston Insurance Group in 1958 as a special agent in Atlanta, Georgia.

Muriel Morison writes that her husband, Bob, was recently elected Assistant Treasurer of the Inspiration Consolidated Copper Co. Bob is an accountant and after having worked in Inspiration's New York office several years was sent to the company's mine in Arizona. Inspiration is a mining town and the Morisons enjoy its leisurely western living. Bob and Muriel have three children, Robert Jr. 9, Barbara 5, and Kevin 1½.

Walt Anderson is back in the United States after two years in Derbyshire, England, where he was an engineer with Rolls Royce. Jack Wilson was elected a member of the school committee of Wayland, Mass., last May. Jack has been on the finance committee for three years. He is currently a member of the school building committee and has been active in town affairs for more than five years. He is now Manager of the Dot Products Supply Company in Cambridge, Mass., a Division of the United Car Fastener Corporation.

The new advertising director for Business Week magazine is Jim Randolph. For the past two and a half years Jim has been eastern advertising sales manager for the publication and has been associated with the McGraw-Hill Publishing Company since he left college. He and his wife, Joan, have three children and are living on Birch Hill Road in Weston, Conn. Jim belongs to the Association of Industrial Advertisers.

Howie Deese has been appointed Sales Supervisor for Life Insurance Company of North America in Boston. Before joining this company, Howie was a special agent with Prudential. Prior to this he had his own insurance agency in Wakefield, Mass.

Congratulations go to Herb Wik from the Class on his election to the Dartmouth Alumni Council. Herb is the first classmate so honored. This is a tribute to his hard work in the enrollment field. Herb was appointed General Agent of Security Mutual Life Insurance Company in April. Previously he was associated with Paul Revere Life Insurance as an Agency Supervisor.

A fine letter from Townes Harris tells of several trips he and Roz have made during the past year to Hanover. The most recent trip was during Green Key weekend as fraternity house chaperones. An earlier trip was made last fall for the Club Officers weekend to which Townes was invited as president of the Rhode Island Association. Townes mentions his schedule for annual golf game with Barry Marks. Barry continues at Brown University as Assistant Dean in charge of freshmen. He has been at Brown for at least five years teaching American literature and doing-administrative work. Barry has his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Townes mentioned seeing Arnie Boomer occasionally Arnie worked indirectly with Townes when he helped set up his IBM equipment for handling checking accounts at the Bank in which Townes works. Last year Townes worked closely with Ralph Warburton in the Rhode Island Alumni Association when Ralph was Vice President. Ralph has now succeeded to the Presidency.

George Adelman continues at the Office of Naval Research in Boston, as a librarian George has been at this office for at least two years where he helps assemble technical information. Sherm Gleason is Assistant Manager with Home Life Insurance Company in Framinsrham, Mass. Bob Keane is now living in Hinsdale, Ill., where he continues his engineering work with United Engineers and Constructors, Inc. Bob has been with this company for eleven years, since he left a position as instructor at Thayer School in 1949- Bob and his wife Barbara have two daughters and a son, Robert Jr.
