It was good to hear from a long lost stranger, Dan Boyd. Until this past week I hadn't seen or heard from him since we were in the Marine Corps together in 1954. Dan is the only classmate I know of who decided to make a career in the military. At the present time he is a Major and stationed with a reserve unit in Port Arthur, Texas. His career has been varied and includes a year in the Far East after which he was married. The Marines then immedi- ately sent him for two years of sea duty which is a great way to start a marriage. Following a short tour at Camp Lejeune, N. C., Dan spent three years of Russian language study — two of them in Germany. He says it's an interesting life and that his wife Peggy and the children are also enjoy- ing it. He will be in California this summer when the reserves go to summer camp.

"Skip" Thompson is finishing up his MBA at Harvard Business School and is scheduled to receive his degree this year. He was recently elected treasurer of the Student Association. Before returning to the academic world, Skip worked for Mobil Oil Company in New England and has continued to work for them during the summer vacation. He and his wife Jane live in Cambridge. Also in the Boston area is RussCook. He was recently made an assistant vice president of The Colonial Fund, Inc., a Boston headquartered mutual fund.

Dave Picker was recently featured in a business column in the New York Herald Tribune. He has been appointed first vice- president of United Artists Corporation. It was Dave who decided to take over the financing of "Tom Jones" after a reading of the script. The film is expected to be the highest grossing foreign film in history.

Fred Hitt has been awarded the Junior Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award for his participation in civic activities. He was honored for service to the Red Cross, serving as chairman of drives in 1963 and 1965, and United Fund, where he was chairman for business, civic and professional section. He is also active in the Meriden, Conn., Association for Retarded Children and the Cheshire Taxpayers Association. Fred is an Attorney with the firm of Dice, Bohan & Hitt.

Bill Chaffee is a budding architect with the well known firm of I. M. Pei. He is currently working on the Kennedy Memorial Library and past assignments include city plans for Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. Dave Godschalk is City Planner in Gainesville, Fla. Pete Grenquist paid him a visit last January and reports that they were water skiing while most of us were freezing. Tom Bagg has been traveling all over the world as a Tax Attorney for Socony.

Bob Henderson is on the move again, both geographically and vocationally. He has been named to the new post of director of field marketing for Honeywell's electronic data processing division and will be responsible for all commercial and federal sales of Honey- well computers in 50 offices throughout the nation. Since 1963 when he was appointed central region sales director, Bob has been living in Winnetka, Ill., but now his headquarters will be at Honeywell data processing headquarters in Wellesley Hills, Mass. He joined Honeywell in 1960 after three years with IBM.

Going great guns with Time, Inc. is DickThomas. He was recently made manager of the New York office for Time Magazine. Dick is well known in the New York area for his long and straight drives on the golf course. Another long hitter off the tee just combined a business trip and vacation to the east. Phil Fast went to a one-week school at Wharton School of Finance courtesy of his employer, Smith Barney. Phil and his wife Carmen then took a short vacation in New York. Last I heard Phil was the owner of two houses, his old one in Wheaton, Ill., and a new home in Winnetka.

One sure sign of spring is that we are in the midst of our Alumni Fund Drive. Last year was the first in our history where we did not win our category. Class agents are working hard to see that we regain our spot on top and this is only possible if all of us help.
