Spring is here, say good-by to Maxi, A style quite warm, but not too sexi. Let micro-mini replace you quick, Before fad's pendulum turns tock to tick. Spring, lettuce go with thumb of green Out to the garden and hill of bean, Or, maybe after trout with feathery flies, Whose tales on telling grow a foot twixt the eyes.
Warm?
Break out the gin, splash on some tonic, Garnish with lime, swig a libation symphonic.
Yup, time for the flowers, the bees and the birds,
And if love's gotcha at a loss for words, Tell her you'll darn well do as you please, 'Cuz she's lucky to be lovin' one of Big Green's Sixty Threez.
Dave Cook was always one to take his booking seriously. After all, look where it got him. Dave, manager of the Lauriat's Northshore Bookstore (Mass.), has been elected to the board of the Northshore Shopping Center. This makes Dave the youngest board member in the eleven-year history of the center. Actually it was his uncanny ability to coax runaway shopping carts back from the parking lot that did it. Nice going, Dave.
You'll find a banker at Bankers Trust, a friend at Chase Manhattan, and a new vice president at Fidelity Union Trust, Summit, N. J. None other than Charlie Parton. Charlie's been promoted from ass't treasurer to Second Vice President in the Mortgage Dept. Other of Charlie's credits include: graduate studies in the National Mortgage School of the Mortgage Bankers Association, M.B.A. from Rutgers (1968), chairman of FHA Income Loan Committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association, and member of the Dartmouth Club of Essex and Morris Counties, N. J. All this and he plays a mean game of tennis too. Well done, Charlie.
Pete Suttmeier always had a yen to get into politics. Well, finally his slow boat's come in. Pete's been appointed ass't professor of government at Hamilton College effective July 1. Pete, a specialist in Asian politics, has plenty of first hand experience too. Phi.D. from Indiana and two years as a Big Green Project Asia Fellow at Chung Chi College of the Chinese U. of Hong Kong. Just goes to show you how far a guy will go to get his shirts done a little cheaper.
Bill Subin showed 'em at Mac's Restaurant, Somers Point, N. J., that big guys don't always get all the gravy. Yup, Subes really cleaned up alright. Not only his plate, but the Downbeach Jaycees' Distinguished Service Award too. Subes, first recipient of the club's highest annual award, was cited for his assistance to law enforcement agencies and his enthusiastic support of local area and school rowing crews. Wah-hoo, Subes.
At a recent meeting of medical minds. Dr. Steve Bank, Clinical Psychologist at Wesleyan U., titillated the local District Nurse Association's grey matter with his speech entitled, "Student Motives and Social Patterns of Drug Use." In fact, most of Steves published research has also focused on personality, drugs, and child behavior. Steve received his Ph.D. in Clinical and Child Psychology in '68 from U. North Carolina, his internship at Conn. Valley Hospital '69, and his couch '70 from Rand's of Hanover.
Just plain Bill, he isn't. Bill Eichbaum is better known as "Beel" to the residents of Philadelphia's low-income Puerto Rican communities. Bill did what I'm sure many of us would really like to do. Thumbed his nose at 9 to 5 and tackled something much more rewarding and meaningful. Bill, complete with Harvard Law and Geneva Univ., Graduate Institute of International Studies degrees, quit the prestigious Philly law firm of Pepper, Hamilton and Sheetz to practice with Community Legal Services. Glad to see the Dartmouth "stuff" really comes through.
First, the Ring Thing. An aisle finally took a Marine. Capt. Pete Davis, USMC, wedded Miss Linda Burney (Chatham Memorial School of Nursing) on February 20. Pete's stationed at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Glynco, Ga., and will call St. Simons, Ga., home. Mary Sorenson found a permanent friend at Chase Manhattan, John Charlton. John's with the International Dept. at Chase; Mary's with Kuwait's mission to the United Nations. Bride-to-be is also a U. Denver grad.
Then, some Rattle Prattle. Pete and SueRotch, Mt. Vernon, N. H., inform me that young Duncan Boylston Rotch, 6 lbs. 9 ozs., was born under the sign of Aquarius (January 21, 1970). Pete, I'm sure that you and Sue have already discovered that Aquarius is synonymous with the "Water Bearer."
Good night, Chet...
