We know we promised a report on the October 11 Reunion in this issue, but as usual we had not properly calculated our timeing on the deadline. At this moment we can only report that we slipped over to nearby Amherst and saw the Green fritter away multiple opportunities and lose the opener against UMass. Possibly by the time you read this the lads will have acquired a scoring punch, which was sadly lacking on September 27. Good defense, though!

The Manchester Union-Leader does more than keep the eagle eye out for Communist subversion. F'rinstance it reported in midSeptember that Bill Green, a prominent New Hampshire attorney, is heading up a fund drive to raise $1.2 million for the Elliot Hospital. Bill has been a trustee of the hospital, and was an assistant attorney general of the State. He has served as president of the Manchester Community Chest; was voted Citizen of the Year in 1960 by the Chamber; has been president of the Jewish Community Center, and general chairman of the Combined Jewish Appeal. He was chairman of the State Board of Education and a member of the Citizen's Advisory Committee of the City public school system.

A picture in the New England advertising press shows Bob Richman, agency copy chief of Robert T. Reynolds Associates of Hartford, Conn., conferring with a new client in Springfield, Vt.

From Ward Potter: "I am retired from government service, civil, that is- and find retirement enjoyable but frantic. Of three children only Dave is still in college, a senior at Dartmouth. Had a fine visit from Dick Hobbs and expect to visit him this fall."

George Hanna reports that Stan Brown is actively seeking election to the #2 office in the American Bar Association. The vote falls in February, and George says he understands Brownie has a good shot at the post.

Jack Bowie writes that he retired in June from 28 years in the Foreign Service, five in the Navy, and two as a newspaper reporter. With Janime and 17-year old Ian, he spent three weeks on the Riviera this past August, where he confesses he had considered settling permanently. Dissuaded by soaring property values, they'll be hanging in at Washington D.C., at least until lan finishes college. Jack is planning to try a bit of freelancing.

Bill Webster won a trip to Switzerland- for two. Graciously took wife Bunny for her first foreign junket. They were over and back in September.

Buzz Waters attended a wedding in Hartford and so did we this past September. Buzz and Janie reported skiing at Steamboat Springs, Colo., where they maintain a condo, and last March spied "an old gent about our age" who skiied damn well. It could have been imagination but he thinks it was none other than little Bud Little, whom Buzz has not seen since graduation. The assumption is the "old gent" skiied so well Buzz could not catch up to renew acquaintances. Will Bud please confirm if he was at Steamboat Springs last March?

Bob Cushman reports daughter #2, Penny, is in her second year at Tuck School. Bob further comments, "Nice to know each generation gets smarter".

Joe Hoover recounts that though his family is still based in Ohio, they continue to spend time in New Hampshire. Son Mike was graduated from Dartmouth last June, and is now working for Manufacturers Hanover in NYC. Daughter Ann is a Dartmouth sophomore, and one of the College's greatest boosters. Another daughter Jane is a senior at Andover and has her sights set on Dartmouth for the fall of '76.

Mac MacGilpin speaks of three sons leaving the nest; one a physician doing a pediatric residency at Hartford Hospital; one in the banking business with two sons of his own; and the third getting a masters degree in fine arts at Northern Illinois Univ. Mac is still practicing medicine in Worcester, Mass., and spending weekends on the Cape where he often sees the Bradieys, Wolfes, the Lyons and, the Dickgiessers.

Bill Bordorf will be retiring after the first of the year after 29½ years with Johnson & Johnson. He looks toward golf, fishing and travel out of a beautiful home on the river in Tequesta, Fla. He welcomes some '39er drop-ins.

And we promise a report on the fall reunion in our next, along with a report on the determinations of the executive committee which meets at Bonnie Oaks on Oct 10th.
