It's not too .early to start planning for our 35th Reunion which comes about next year (one year early). Although you will all be receiving a letter from President Frank Hartman keep in mind that the fall reunion will be the weekend of the Harvard game (October 15-17) at which we should get top priority in preferred locations for football tickets as an "older" reuning class. The second part of our 35th Reunion year will be the major Reunion itself June 13-16, 1977. Don Reich, has been appointed chairman of the 35th Reunion committee and we are reliably advised that in a moment of weakness he accepted the job. You should be hearing from Don as to reunion plans. Any volunteers will, I am sure, be appreciated by Don.

More general news involves Clarke Lyon as the recipient of the Distinguished William G. Dwight Award for outstanding community service in the city of Holyoke. Clarke was also a graduate of the Harvard Law School and is a senior partner in a Holyoke law firm. According to Don McCorkindale, Clarke has made great contributions of time and service particularly as a Holyoke Gas and Electric Commissioner, Holyoke Boys Club fund raiser, and as president of the Holyoke Taxpayers Association.

We also have a news release from the department of orthopedic surgery of the University Pittsburgh School of Medicine advising that Dr. Al Ferguson was elected president of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery at its annual meeting in September of this year. This honor is on top of Al having been elected president of the American Orthopedic Association in June. With all this responsibility one wonders when Al has time to "surge."

George Munroe reports that Bob Grimshaw has been elected vice president - administration of Lea Valeer Industries, a new and rapidly-growing company in Illinois.

Back up in Mascoma (God's Country) Brad Morris, now a retired air force chaplain, is continuing his pastoral duties by serving as a volunteer associate pastor and as a member of the advisory committee of the Retired Service Volunteer Program. He is associated with Meals on Wheels and does pastoral supply work during the summer. Brad and wife Elaine are doing a fair amount of traveling and since his retirement from the Air Force they have made two trailer trips across the country, totaling more than 10,000 miles each time. Sounds like retirement can be fun.

We are sorry to report the death of OakleyCurtis on September 24. Although an obituary will appear shortly, we report here that Oakley's widow has established "The Oakley C. Curtis Memorial Loan Fund" at Tufts Medical School with preference to be given to graduates of Dartmouth. Oakley's friends may write to his widow Ellen at Prince's Point, Yarmouth, Me.

As these notes will appear in the December Magazine, a Happy and Holy Christmas/Hanukkah to you all.
