Greetings from Atlanta! A miracle has occurred—mail! International mail to boot! I received one letter from Valerie Jaffee, who was moving from Copenhagen to Stockholm. Valerie is working for L.M. Ericsson, a major Swedish electronics firm. One benefit of the electronics business is that Valerie has voice mail through a California telephone. Valerie invites visiting classmates to call her in Stockholm (46-8-676219). Recent visitors include Judy Osher, who was in Copenhagen for four days at the end of a European bicycle tour. On her travels to London in October, Valerie saw BeanieScott and Karen Fagerstrom, the latter a lawyer on assignment in London. Valerie also sends a warning that Stockholm is expensive. A shot of whiskey can cost $10, so plan on drinking elsewhere!

John McGrath sent news from Tokyo. That's one place that is more expensive than Stockholm. A melon can cost $3O. (Top that, Valerie!). John is working in Tokyo with the information services division of Morgan Stanley. He did not explain what they do, but it must have something to do with keeping up with the volatile Japanese stock and bond markets. John, his wife, and two kids are enjoying life in Tokyo.

A reception was held at the New York Public Library on November 6 to introduce President Freedman to the Big Apple. This also provided a '78 mini-reunion, with Gerry Widdicombe, Steve Mandel, DavidHodgsen, Marc Farley, Walter Callender,Todd Anderson, Charles Allison, and Steve Adnopoz listening to President Freedman's remarks and dancing the night away.

I also received news of Irving Richardson, who was named teacher of the year in Maine. Irving teaches at the Morse Street School in Freeport, and is project director for an alternative education program for grades 2-5. Irving is married and has two children (Jamie, age three, and Amanda, seven months).

FMC Corporation sent out a press release that Charlie Kreter was recently named director of investor relations. Charlie has been with FMC since 1980. Prior to taking on his new duties in Chicago, Charlie was on assignment in Belgium.
