As my cousin Louise is fond of saying, growing old is not for sissies. Activities tend to become limited. In calling around for news I found Munny Raymond living alone in an apartment in Kansas City. He does visit his daughter in Estes Park in the fall. That's something. Red Edgar was his usual ebullient, cheerful self. He says he has too many ailments to venture forth much but does hope to make the 70th. He leaves the traveling to his wife, Nancy, who went to her class reunion at BrynMawr and is now visiting their daughter in London.

Since the last report we have lost a number of our notables. Lane Dwinell, governor of New Hampshire for two terms, died March 27. Larry Kenny died on the same date. Walt McKee, who rose from privateto lieutenant colonel in intelligence in the late war also died in March. Walt Simpson, a fraternity brother and close friend of mine, died March 17. Our great ladies and loyal Dartmouth supporters are going as well. Anita Reynolds Beers, widow of Lew Beers and a child psychologist, died August 1, 1996, and Elizabeth Reese, widow of Ed Reese, who played with the 1925 championship football team, died January 8.

Jerry Sass wants us to be sure to mark our calendars with the following three events: October 31 and November 1, 1997, mini reunion at the Hanover Inn; April 3 and 4, 1998, Class Officers Weekend followed by a class annual meeting; and June 26, 27, and 28 at Hanover Inn for our 70th Reunion and final class meeting.
