You should be receiving this column about the time of our mini-reunion in Charleston, S.C. Judging from all the work and preparation that Mike Orr has put into this event, it should be a wonderful class get-together at the absolute peak season for Charleston weather arid activities. (On a cold February day in Boston the mere thought of those beautiful golf courses around Charleston is rather appealing to your class secretary.) As a result of the mini, I expect to receive much more news of classmates but would like at this time to put out a general request for class news as my mailbag is nearly empty. Please let me know what you and your family are up to, what classmates you may have seen, comments about the goings on at the College, or anything else on your mind. Your class really does want to hear from you).

In case you are not aware of it, class president Jim Griffiths and Mike Bettman are spearheading a project with the College and its landscape architects to develop an attractive entryway to the new northern part of the campus (north of the expanded library). As the campus evolves northward, this area is generally viewed as a strategic piece of real estate and a great opportunity for the class to participate in a project that will be highly visible and yet another symbol of our class's tradition of making worthwhile contributions to the future development of the College. As more details become available, they will be shared with the class. Also, Brian Walsh, class treasurer, reported that the class is now in a position to fulfill its commitment of $25,000 to the Webster Hall project for the class treasury.

Hank Amon, head agent, is hard at work on this year's Alumni Fund drive with a goal of $245,000, up from the $227,023 raised last year. Because there will be fewer than 60 days to the conclusion of this year's Alumni Fund by the time you read this column, I hope this serves as a reminder to those who have not yet contributed. Hank has done a great job and hopes to continue both to increase the percentage of class participation as well as to increase the number of leadership donors ($1,000 or above). Let's be sure to support Hank (and our class and the College) in this effort.

On the e-mail front, I received a nice message from Brad Dewey from Switzerland. He was looking for RickDavey's e-mail address and mentioned that '65s are always welcome when in Switzerland, and, as if to add emphasis, he reminded me that Tuscany is also close by. I hope to catch up with Brad by phone to get more news. Also my apologies to SteveFuller. I recently received an e-mail from him but did not retain his e-mail address for reply. Please e-mail it to me, Steve, and I promise I will not lose it again.

Finally, on a sad note, I regret to report the passing of Michael Francis Leone of San Diego, Calif. A full obituary will appear in a later issue.
