I hope everyone in the class has read ArtChapin's record of the class widows who contributed to the 1906 Alumni Fund. It is an inspiring record and we of 1906 should appreciate this evidence of their loyalty to the College and the Class. You may be interested to read excerpts from their letters.

Margaret Bell: "My three children are married and each has two children, so I have six grandchildren."

Madalyne Brock: —"I am sending the enclosed check for the Alumni Fund as Gott was always such a loyal alumnus. My two sons, of the classes of '37 and '39 are married and have three children between them. Laurence is with Le Page's, Inc., and Richard is a comic strip artist with the McNaught Syndicate."

Florence Herr: "It is a pleasure to send my check. Ned Jr. lives in Woodbury, Conn., and has two sons. Virginia's four children are living in Santa Monica as their father remarried and is with the Hughes Aircraft Cos. Had a delightful visit with Bess and ShortyNeal recently."

Rose Main: - "Knowing how my dear Charles loved the College and everything pertaining to it, nothing would please me more than to make a large gift, to the College. Unfortunately it isn't possible but I do want to have a part in the class Fund so am enclosing a check."

Alma Milham: - "Yes, indeed I do want to make a contribution to the class Fund in Charles' name, not only now but every year as long as I live. Don't forget that Thanksgiving Hill will be 1906 headquarters as long as I am here."

Anne Perry: - "I am happy to enclose my check as a Memorial gift, as usual. With Mrs. Hanlon I get back to Hanover every year in the fall. It is full of memories for the both of us."

Hallie Smith: "lt is time once more to send my contribution in Joe's memory to the Alumni Fund. Our daughter, Josephine, is now living in San Francisco after living in Tokyo, Japan, for three years. She has four children, two girls and two boys. Our younger daughter is married and living here in Burlington. She has three children, one boy and two girls. I am lucky in having excellent health and a fine and interesting family."

Gertrude Smith: "Enclosed is my check. It is always a pleasure to receive the ALUMNI MAGAZINE and I read it from cover to cover."

The New York dinner of the 1905-1906 classes will be held at the Dartmouth Club on Friday evening, December 11. Make it a must date.

Now that Foster Guyer is a man of leisure, Marie and he have already made two trips into Canada and Nova Scotia. Probably their next trip will be to France, as their son Arthur is now stationed at Bordeaux with the Air Force.

Lyman Frazier, Leonard Gerould, ThurlowGordon and Norm Russell checked in at the Hanover Inn during the summer.
