Representing the class secretaries, Henry W. Williams Jr. '52 reported on the winter Alumni Council meeting. A keynote talk by President James O. Freedman, given in good voice and wit, was not humorous. It was the need to address student abuse of alcohol. Do limits on kegs drive students to highways in search of beer? Is the blame too intensely targeted on fraternities and sororities? The College is required by federal law to enforce state liquor laws. Can the College do this without witch-hunting?
Bob and Helen Reinhardt enjoy Venice, Fla., winters, golfing three times a week. Dick and Mary Olmsted will be in nearby Nokomis when they complete a cruise. BoWentworth suffered a fractured hip, which is healing slowly. Ruth and Joe Roberts leave for New Zealand and Australia and will miss the two earth-shaking encounters that are filling the media this last weekend of January, the Superbowl game, and Kenneth Starr versus Bill Clinton.
Again we are saddened by the loss of two fine classmates, Alexander McKenzie and James Flint.
