In my last column I reported that Beth Johnston had recently married and I wondered whether she would be as effusive as Joe Reinkemeyer was regarding his nuptials. Well, I think Beth did Joe one better when she wrote to me about "the happiest weekend and event of our lives."

"Scott Stephenson (UVA '79, Harvard '83) and I became acquainted 22 years ago, when we both worked in Boston for-Boston Consulting Group. We both feel unbelievably blessed that at this age and stage in our lives, God gave us the gift of being married to the person we both most preferred to be with. We don't approach the creation of one family from two lightly, but our children have been wonderfully supportive.

"We were married in the Oak Brook, Illinois, church where I grew up, on June 19,2004. It was a wonderful wedding weekend. My son, Peter, was one of Scott's groomsmen; Lee and Caroline, Scott's daughters, were two of my bridesmaids. Guests with a Dartmouth affiliation included Peter and Suzy (Hopkins) Axelson '81, Lisa and Etienne Boillot '81, Bill and Anne Remmer Cole, Eileen ('81) and John Donahoe, Ken and Kate McKee Fox, John King and daughter Langley, Heather (Hazle) and Peter Lambert, Lori and Steve Leeke '83, Susan and Stuart Lucas '81, Debbie and Bruce McKenzie '81 and Connie Jones Sewell. My work right now has been getting the five of us settled into a new home in Atlanta and new rhythm and new life. Scott works for ISO, an information company based in New Jersey. Lee is an nth-grader and Caroline an eighth-grader at Whitefield Academy in Atlanta. Peter had an internship in Manhattan in fall 2004, spent December and January with us in Atlanta, then spent February and May with his father, Bob Faber, in Sofia, Bulgaria. He plans to matriculate at Yale in fall 2005."

In other news, Bob Pattillo is a founder and chair of The Rockdale Foundation, a charitable foundation established in 1995 with his wife, Katy. The Rockdale Foundation focuses on education and microfinance, a "businesslike, market-oriented and self-sustaining" response to poverty, with a commitment to the Middle East/North Africa. Bob is also the founder and leader of Gray Ghost Microfinance Fund, a social investment portfolio focused in the field of microfinance. Bob is on the board of directors of several microfinance organization and investment funds, most importantly ACCION Investments, Micro Vest, Deustche Bank Microcredit Development Fund and the Mix Market. Bob also currently serves as a trustee of the Jessie Parker Williams Foundation and Columbia Theological Seminary.

Peter Frechette and his production company, Field of Dreams, have released a documentarymoveie about the Cape Cod baseball league, Touchingthe Game, to the glowing reviews of sportswriters around the country. Steeped in baseball lore, the documentary is also a peek into smalltown life in America through the eyes of hundreds of college students with dreams of making the major leagues. The movie aired on television last summer and is available on DVD at www. touchingthegame.com.

I continue to be awed and inspi red by the experiences and accomplishments of our classmates.
