Summer2006 was busytime for the class of 1982. Marthas Vineyard seemed to be a hot spot. Lillian Cousins Giornelli was spotted enjoying the sun and the golf course. Dave Plekenpol was seen biking up and down the island. He crossed paths with Steve Berger, then stopped at the beach to spend some time with Sally Adnopoz Gendler. Later Dave and Sally enjoyed an awesome sunset at a cocktail party hosted by Jim Cusack and his wife, Julia. Jim is a surgical oncologist at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Cathy Judd-Stein is in her seventh year as deputy legal counsel in the governors office in Massachusetts. She continues to enjoy the challenges of representing Governor Romney as he now pursues a presidential campaign. She notes that while the atmosphere at the State House is always satisfying, it is particularly satisfying for her to serve strictly as a legal advisor to the governor, above the political fray. Kathy Briscoe visited recently for her Harvard Business School reunion and then on business. Kathy, her husband and their two daughters are enjoying their newly remodeled home in Hermosa Beach, California. The Judd-Steins vacationed this summer at Whistler Mountain in Vancouver and then traveled to Steve Warrens new beach home on San Juan Island in Washington. Steve is at the top of his field representing so many of todays most successful film entertainers. Cathy's oldest is off to Cornell this fall and she is adjusting to his absence with a little heartache. Kent and Sheila Cooper will be in Hanover soon saying goodbye to their daughter Sally, who is a freshman at Dartmouth. Maybe they will run into Steve D'Antonio, who will also be there dropping off his son Thomas who is also a'lo.

As some of us are sending our children off to college others of us are welcoming new babies into our lives. John Froemming wrote to let me know that Jack Blunt and his wife, Michiko, are the proud parents of second son Matthew Brian Blunt who was born on August 7. Mike Sapers reports that Bruce Weissberg and his wife, Elisa, had a little girl, Tamar, on March 8. This is their fourth child; their next youngest is 11 years old. Guess they longed for those happy days of changing diapers and sleepless nights. Mikes new sports performance training franchise, CATZ Sports, is moving along nicely. They have sold 28 franchises in the past year and a half and are now helping kids become more athletic from coast to coast. The Dartmouth Club of Minnesota had its annual golf outing in mid-August. Jay Miller, Todd Markman, Woody Kingman and Steve Faber played. Jay continues to run Vital Images; Todd is off on a new venture as president and part owner of a new bank charter in Faribault; Woody just started with Associated Bank, where he is starting a private mortgage banking arm for them that will cater to "XL jumbo" home loans to well-heeled individuals; and Steve continues in commercial real estate and construction. John Moscarino writes that President Wright brought the Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience tour to Los Angeles in August. The Saturday night event at the Disney Concert Hall was well attended by the class of'82. David Eichman, Kevin Jones, Mark Salter and Karl Thurmond were all there.

I certainly hope you all have plans to congregate in Hanover next June for our 25 th reunion. Be on the lookout for our e-mail announcements over the next six months. Please take the time to respond to our questionnaire so we can get an account of who will be coming.
