The Mail Bag - Some very interesting letters this month and we'd like to share them with you. First of all, nice note from Jim Felter, who is now in the securities business with Dean Witter & Company in Phoenix. I got this letter about April 9 and was indeed sorry, because I had just returned from a business trip to the Arizona city. As reported in a recent ALUMNI MAG, Jim had been in Arabia but he and his wife and two children, Louise and Jay, are now in the growing "Valley of the Sun" and Jim says there is "plenty of room out there for more Dartmouth men." Nice to hear from you Jim. . . . The next letter is one of great interest from Tony Brackett, who we reported to you in an earlier issue had been studying for the Priesthood at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bradford, Vt., and will be assigned somewhere in the diocese of Burlington (comprising the state of Vermont) as a curate or assistant priest in a parish. It is interesting that Tony will be ordained in the same Catholic Church in Bradford where he was converted to the Church in 1948 and baptized. His years since college are a very interesting tale - after being drafted into the Army Medical Corps freshman year, he ended up spending three-and-one-half years with Uncle Sam in North Africa and Cairo, coming out as a First Lieutenant. He then went into business in Fairlee, Vt., with his brother and in 1952 entered the University Seminary in Ottawa to prepare for the Priesthood. For the past seven years (since 1952) Tony has been preparing for this work in the Church. Congratulations and good luck, Tony, in your new way of life. . . . A very nice letter from Harold K. Jackson '10, father of our own Charlie Jackson who was killed in a traffic accident in 1949. Some of you may know that Charlie had done some writing and Baker Library has recently accepted his bound manuscript for the book, "Into Harm's Way," based upon his experiences in PT boats in the Mediterranean during WW 2 The book never reached publication and it is gratifying to us and all of his family and friends that his efforts will be preserved in the Alumni Alcove collection at Baker, - Thanks so much Mr. Jackson.
