The second annual 1928 Florida Get-Together was held in Deerfield Beach, Fla., on February 28, with 23 Floridians from Palm Beach to Coral Gables and a flock of "snobirds." Gene Magenis tried to see that all of you who had permanent or temporary Florida addresses got an invitation and directions. ErnieWright handled the dinner reservations. The reunion committee, which included Bruce Lewis and Al Fusonie, deserves a Wah Hoo Wah for its efforts. Your secretary thanks Gene for getting a newsy report to us in the mail a day later.

At the dinner were Bruce Lewis, Gene and Fran Magenis, Ernie and Jean Wright, Craw and Ethna Pollock, Red and Helen Fauntleroy, Chris and Mary Norman, Brougham and Claire Wallace, Roger and Alma Sundeen, Bill and Bobby Morton, Topper Robinson, Wes and Dorris Wood, Al Fusonie, Lois Wilkins (Jack McLaughlin's first wife), and Betty Cusack (widow of Bill Cusack '27).

Dynamo Morton came over from Naples, Fla., to give a rundown on the preparations for the 50th. Brougham Wallace is still on the board of the Orange Savings Bank and attends regular meetings all year (has to fly to New Jersey in the winter). He and Claire divide their time between Florida and New Jersey.

Gaylord Fauntleroy spends all his time on boats; he loves cruising here and there for ten days or so at a time. His wife is equally gung ho for boats. Has 18 grandchildren.

Craw Pollock has 14 grandchildren, is glad to be in Florida, and is looking forward to attending the 50th.

Chris Norman spent 36 years with Standard & Poors in New York City and retired in 1966 as vice president-managing editor. Now he has time to work on his boats.

Al Fusonie lost his beloved Connie last December. He still teaches Latin and Math at Crestwood School in Fort Lauderdale, but he has given up coaching ... hopes to make the 50th.

Topper Robinson is thinking of setting up a residence in Florida but enjoys his work in Hyannis, Mass., where he acts as a volunteer executive for the local hospital.

Ernie and Jean Wright have just moved into a condo on the ocean at 2600 S. Ocean Blvd., Boca Raton. They divide their time between Florida and Chestnut Hill, Pa. They have a daughter living in Hanover whose husband is an officer at Mary Hitchcock Hospital.

Bruce Lewis had to leave early to return to Thelma, who is recovering from her operation. Bruce's daughter Mary Virginia is the official class baby. She and husband Ken Cypher have six grandchildren, and son Ralph has seven.

Betty Cusack is the author of three books and many-time president of the Dartmouth Women's Club of Boston.

Gene Magenis recalled that during the War he was rejected by the Navy on "physical" and worked for Ham Hankins, who was Operations Manager for the Africa-Orient Division of Pan American Airways. Gene is a semi-retired securities analyst with some trustee accounts.

Rog Sundeen especially likes our '28 numerals on Baker Library and recalls working during vacations for the contractor building the library. Although retired from his Manchester, N.H., law firm, he still keeps several old clients and does trustee work.

Gayle Leslie reports that he and Jim McConnon are regular attendants at the monthly luncheons of the very active Dartmouth Club in Tucson. Gayle plays golf every day except Sunday. He and Carmen own a home adjacent to the 16th green on the Tucson National Golf Course and were among the 30,000 spectators who watched the Tucson Open, second tournament on the winter tour.

Eleanor and Wat Dickerman plan the most interesting trips - right now they are trying for a reservation on a Turkish coastal steamer. But they say the Turks won't write. The Dickermans have toured the area before and want to go again for a longer time.

Charley Proctor is making tentative plans for the 50th. He says, "Hanover seems a long way from Santa Cruz, Cal., but airplanes and rental cars should., solve that. We have been having a great winter for golf, but it looks like we may not have any course this summer - at least not with grass!"

Jack Cook stopped in today at the office for a pleasant visit on his way west on Route 6, heading home to Crystal Lake, Ill. We tried to get him to spend the night, but he had to reach Cleveland tonight. He had just visited friends in Northern Pennsylvania after two weeks in Florida. He is planning to climb Mt. Shasta and then take a raft trip down the Colorado River this summer. The 50th is definitely in his plans.
